About
This slightly undulating medium length golf course is west of Aberdeen situated in one of the most beautiful parts of upper Deeside. It was founded in 1892 as a nine hole test on land owned by the Laird of Invercauld. When farmland became available in 1905 the course was expanded to 18 holes, providing an exacting challenge in idyllic surroundings. The town and its golf course lie within a circle of hills, providing glorious views and the River Dee runs alongside several of the holes, as it meanders its way down to Aberdeen.

Great course with fantastic catering
Great golf course in wonderful condition, and fantastic catering.
Easy walking course in super condition, we had a couple of very heavy showers on back 9 but it never spoiled the experience . Will definitely return sometime
Ballater
Course excellent, golf pro very nice and helpful, friendly locals. Only one thing to let the day down was the bar person, she needs a customer care course. Not the restaurant staff which were excellent.
2nd time
The days weather was stunning at around 26 degrees. The course was in excellent condition especially the greens. Play was painfully slow but the weather helped. The staff were very friendly and helpful, all in all we had a very nice day out with a meal in the clubhouse after the golf. Would very much recommend Ballater Golf Club for a day out 👍
Course was in great condition for this time of year well laid out to follow round I think it would be a great course for an outinhy
Golf with hubby

Ballater Golf
Course was in great condition and club house and staff was also very good. Worth the travel and would play it again
Beautiful setting and well maintained course
We’ll maintained and a gem of a course with wonderful views of the surrounding hills.
.
Staff were all friendly and helpful.
Pace of play was slow as we were a 2 ball playing behind some very slow 3 and 4 balls.
Definitely will come back to play again.
Nice Golf
Although we played when the weather was overcast , the greens were in very good condition . The standard of the course was good considering the adverse weather the week before . . Definitely worth a visit in the summer months and you will not be disappointed .

Amazing deal for such a lovely course. Might have appreciated a slightly warmer reception on arrival. Playing as a lone golfer on the course for the first time I arrived ready to play 10 minutes before my tee time. While serving a couple in front of me the chap at the desk confirmed my booking before encouraging me out to the first tee in front of the four ball ready to play. No offer of a scorecard, any mention of whether I’d played there before or that the loos by the 10th tee were closed.
Wouldn’t stop me going back, staff from the clubhouse engaged in pleasant conversation, amazing scenery and a nice test. My wife and young son walked the final four holes with me, which will remain etched in the memory forever.
Grand day out
Lovely course in beautiful surroundings. Some tricky but interesting holes. Will definitely be back.
