Oldmeldrum Golf Club

A nice little course in good condition. A lot of short par fours. I was playing as a single and most of the pairings ahead of me were two balls. That said the pace of play was horrendously slow. Took over 3hrs to play the 18 holes. I would expect that sort of time frame from a stacked four ball tee roaster. The only other criticism I have is there were no fairway yardage markers anywhere. As I stopped in on the passing I didnt have any GPS with me. Therfore I was looking for markers to help guess my approach yardage. As there were none this was more challenging. That said I did enjoy the course and it was well kept.

Excellent course greens and fairways in great condition would highly recommend recommend a round or two here.

Course was in good condition, very friendly staff. Pro shop was closed which was disappointing, hopefully they can get it open again. Enjoyed the round would play again.

At the 2nd tee the green keeper drove up to us and asked what were we doing there. We said we are playing golf what’s the problem? He said the course was closed and there were 2 signs at the clubhouse saying so. We did not see any signs. We went to starters shop to check in and get golf cards but was in the process in being painted so only a painter there. We got cards from upstairs.

But when challenged by green keeper he said he only maintains the course.. I offered to show him my booking reference through GolfMow. He didn’t want to see it. He said he was just about to open the course. There were 2 golfers in front of us and 3 behind us.

He explained there were 2 holes with a slight amount of frost which we found hard to believe as was bright sunshine and around 6 deg.

The green keeper was very officious and really did spoil our round. Not a friendly course.there is a clear breakdown in something if we could book the round and hear nothing from them then get challenged on the course.

Got the 18 holes for two people for just under £18, was a beautiful day , the course was in excellent condition , everyone very friendly , pace was good , food and catering staff too notch .

My review might be different on another day as it was very slow play due to a competition - so slow both myself and the group behind left after hole 11. The guy in the pro shop was unpleasant to speak to and came across as very patronising. The course itself however was in very good condition, with fun, challenging holes to keep you entertained. Could do with a few more signs as it was tricky at times to find the next tee.

Played today for first time, partner and I both beginners. What a lovely experience , great course and fellow golfers so considerate and friendly. Shout out to Hamish for making g us feel so welcome and for his lovely words of encouragement. We will be back.

I booked on and got grouped with 2 gentlemen and this made the day mlre enjoyable. The course would be enjoyable for all levels of player. Some shorter holes that are reachable but would bring in danger. Would definitely play again.

Lovely little course, but the layout is a bit odd, took us a few minutes to find the next hole on a few occasions.

Two of us played. I’m 9.3 WHS and my playing partner is 31.

Brian in the pro shop was very welcoming and the members we spoke to were very friendly and helpful. Quite a quirky course with crossover fairways and double greens, but very, very enjoyable and worth more than we paid.

Will definitely be back.

Booked this through golf now. £18 each x 4 ball. Had food first in the clubhouse (excellent). Hired a buggy and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. The course was excellent. I would highly recommend this course 👍🏻

Excellent course regardless of the hills ; ), very private enjoyable club.
