Peterhead Golf Club - The Old Course

A very enjoyable day..The first time we had played a course where we had to park one side of a river and take our clubs and shoes accross a bridge. Very friendly welcome from the Secretary and staff. Dont judge the course on the first 3 holes. Once we played away from the club house on hole 4 the course came into its own. Not long but a good test of golf and some very good holes. Great views of the coast and sea. Hopefully we will get back before too long for another round. Great value.

We were not expecting to park the other side if the river Ugie but after a short walk over the bridge and up the hill we were met by the secretary and given a great welcome. Dont judge the course by the first 3 holes. Once you get away from the clubhouse at hole 4 the course opens up and with the wind blowing it was a good test. The course is not long but there were some great holes and the wind was gusting up to 40mph. Great views over the bay and a good finishing par 5 down to the club house. We completed 18 holes in 2 and 3/4 hours. Just a drink afterwards in the bar with friendly staff and comfortable surroundings. We will definately return.

Warm welcome from a pro. Easy to navigate, great condition fairways. Some greens might need some improvement but overall great experience. Worth every penny

Arrived to find no catering and no access to clubhouse. Greens where ropey to say the least, members would not let visitors play through. There are 4 holes in the middles of the course which were interesting otherwise pretty bland. I can imagine it is a different story when the wind gets up. Some good views.

After a pretty underwhelming start, the course really takes shape as the front 9 progresses.

The stretch from 6-10, and then 15-18 are superb!

Some really good holes. Greens were excellent- rolling really well.

Brilliant course overall, complimented our day with Trump.

A few ok holes to start but transitions to stunning holes and vistas.

Not the hidden gem it was billed as, a couple of nice holes in the dunes but other than that the course is quite bland.

After all the recent rain thought course was in great condition for time of year, well worth a visit.

Really nice traditional Links and club. Course layout very good and course in good condition ( after a difficult summer ). Green were a wee bit of a disappointment and not as good as we had hoped. Still a fantastic day. Stunning views of the beach and the coast. Some very memorable holes.

This is a fun links golf course. Took me 8 trips to Scotland to get around and play it and I regret ignoring it until now.

Fun layout on a pennisula of linksland, it does start slow but revs up in a hurry. Lots of elevation changes, some misdirection, tough putting and keeps you guessing all the time.

Not played by a lot of visitors and the ammenities were nil, outside a small bar.

Our group loves to play as many local links courses as possible and I would definitely recommend this one.

Tees and fairways good.

1st 3 not really links land, next 3 getting better. Course really starts on the 7th tee.

You won't find better links holes than 7,8,9,14-17

5 great holes. No poor holes but 1st 6 aren't as good. The holes in the dunes are magnificent and why the course is worth playing.

Paid £22 - brilliant deal. Stated rate of £65 is too expensive (? £40 course).

Play again - at £22, yes!

This is yet another course in the Aberdeen area that you might not have heard of. Like Fraserburgh, this is ideal to fill out a trip that is a few days. The course itself is proper links golf. You even get the views of the town. Like Fraserburgh, there are elevation changes and a hill is visited multiple times. MY favorite hole was the 17th with an approach to a sunken green. This and the first par 3 are the only places where blindness comes into play. The rest are where it "is all in front of you".

The club has the things you need-putting green, locker room, restaurant, etc. The only negative is that it is 65 pounds per round; maybe a little more than it should be compared to others in the area-Newburgh on Ythan and Fraserburgh come to mind. This is better than a "Second Tier" course, but wit the quality/name courses in the area it becomes one. I recommend it as I had an enjoyable links experience with enough interesting golf to make it worthwhile.

Fabulous course, it was very windy when we played which made it very challenging, The golf tee time was good value for money, although the normal price of £65 is excessive, although it is always a bit windy here it was very very blowy, pick a calmer day if possible
