Established in 1896, Dufftown Golf Club is a unique 18-hole golf course with an eclectic setting that makes it a popular stop for those looking to make the most of their Scotland golf vacation. Dufftown includes two holes that were included in the book "Britain's 100 Extraordinary Golf Holes." The No. 7 hole ranks as the shortest hole in the entire UK at just 64 yards, while the No. 10 hole is at an elevation of 1,213 feet with a magnificent views of the town of Speyside, and an elevated green that features a 339-foot drop from tee to green.
Aside from the breathtaking scenery that Dufftown presents, it is also a golf course in the heart of Scotland's infamous malt whiskey country, adding a particular flavor to both the golf and the area. Still, even with the scenic beauty and libation possibilities, it's the course that truly shines. Playing to nearly 6,000 yards from the back tees, Dufftown is laid out on an undulating track, meaning that the first two holes play uphill, leading to the rest of the course which sits up higher, offering outstanding views and thrilling golf holes.

worth try this nice field view course!
Trying out the 10th Hole White Tee seems to offer the best view of the Scottish field. The reception staff's hospitality surely added to the experience. While the greens might not be as fast as those on high-end Links courses, the reasonable price definitely balances that out.
Great course with stunning views
This course was tremendous value for money with an exciting layout. The 7th and 10th holes are stunning, but it has to be said that every hole on this course has stunning views due the course layout. The only thing I would say is I would recommend that you hire buggy as the course is hilly.
Amazing setting, wonderful views
Played at Dufftown for the 2nd year in a row. Straight off the 1st you're heading up hill, this is a combination of golf and hill walking, its a bit of a workout to say the least! Despite the long dry spell, the course was in good condition, although a couple of the greens need some help - not surprising really as this is a mountain golf course. I would definitely recommend, if you are not fit then a buggy would be a must. We plan to return annually. Would definitely recommend - shame the club house doesn't open - need more people playing there. Highest course in UK with biggest drop from tee to green of 339 feet, see photos. Stunning!
Hilly but views superb
Played this enroute to Braemar.....
Had never played course and did not know the layout, hence 3 or 4 drives were punished, especially dog leg16th.
However as a day filler it had superb views and virtually I had the course to myself.
Would certainly play again ....and be a bit more savvy.

Great course, good condition. A couple of fairways & greens were a touch hairy but greenstaff were out cutting & where they had been was superb. Having spoken to one of the green staff he apologised for where they hadn't yet cut explaining it had been wet all week beforehand (which it had) so they hadn't been able to get out. Staff were very helpful, especially the lady in the club house who brought my wife & son out onto the course in a buggy to find me!!! She even offered for me to go back up to the top of the course in the buggy (no extra charge) to enjoy the views. This is a must play course.
