Lovely course but (avoidable) slow pace
As others have written about the Club, off the course is superb and the Pro shop very helpful guiding you to the nets,chipping area etc. which were excellent.
The condition of the course is very good given recent weather with greens immaculately cut.
You need to play with a mat on the fairway and 1st cut at present to preserve the course. (Apologies for the times I forgot as my local club is “only required in marked areas” I gave myself a stern talking to each time I forgot- sorry
!)
My biggest gripe, as others have said, is the slow play. I was as a solo player being held up by 3 & 4 balls without any offer to play through. Thankfully a short shower sent many running for cover which then relieved this.
A must play
Got a very warm welcome from the pro shop, we were directed to the chipping area and putting green. The greens are some of the fastest ive played on a parkland course. Pace of play was slow, we were a 2 ball behind a 3 ball of seniors who didnt offer us to play throufh at all although the did leave after 12holes which let us motor on. Overall a must play
Interesting course
Wife and I played while winter regs in place. Playing off mats which I don't mind and think every course should be that way to save the condition of the course for summer. For this the fairways are looking good with not much divots about. Summer greens was in play, they are good as can be at this time of year.
Each hole has got something different to offer. Will be back would like to play off the whites to get the full playing course feel.
They have nets and driving range. The driving range is a good bit away. Nice chipping area with bunker as well. Good size putting green.
Wonderful course
This course was in great condition for this time of year with the greens running fast and true, looking forward to my next visit
Great Day Out!
Off the course this is an extremely well run club. We were greeted with friendly faces from both the pro shop and the lounge. The course lived up to and beyond expectation. In the official Scottish top 100 it comes in at 97, I’ve played a lot and this course should really be higher up the rankings! The course is long, 6500yards off the whites and a par 69! Some really solid par 4’s! The course was in great condition for the time of year! A must visit club! Would be great to be a member!
Superb course
A great course and as always in great condition. All staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful and we will definitely be back.
Challenging greens and better for knowing.
Really enjoyed playing Elgin today. Our first visit to the area and loving it. The course and weather conditions were good but your greens are definitely challenging.
Looking forward to playing it again.
