Very enjoyable day excellent greens .we played on a day with no wind this time and the views were breathtaking.we will play again later in the week and have a meal in the friendly clubhouse

A bit short for my son who hits the ball a long way.Greens are superb,uniform and the fastest I've played on all season.Beautiful setting looking on to the sea and beach

We really enjoyed playing this course. The weather was kind and views were spectacular. We made this trip to experience a classic links course and we got what we expected. Greens were in perfect condition. The course is not for the faint hearted with some demanding tee shots and a cool head is required to deal with multiple hazards including walkers and cars on a road that runs through the course. The staff were extremely friendly and clearly proud of their club.

We were lucky to catch a rare great day during December to play the course. As a beginner I found the fairways really narrow. The par 4's are really quite short though, so with decent direction on your drives you can hit a lot of the greens from the tee off.

My major issue with the course was the cars driving though. Played havoc with my nerves as I was pulling my drives this day and I almost took out two different cars as they were going by. Every shot after that was with the cars in mind which I found really off putting.

Played on a dry sunny day in November, forecast was for a "moderate breeze" but it was definitely stronger than that on the spit that makes up the layout. This made the course very challenging despite most of the fairways being generous in width. Balls were even blown off the green! Course was in good condition for November, An interesting links course with cars, cyclists and walkers additional hazards as they go to view the stunning Moray Firth, the lighthouse and the famous dolphins. Afterwards we enjoyed the good food on offer in the clubhouse, even in these Covid times.

Course, especially greens in great condition given time of year. An easy flat walk with a lot of short par 4's & sauntered round in <3hours despite taking plenty of time to take in the fantastic sea views. Great fun.

Possibly my favourite course ever - beautifully laid out, immaculate condition, challenging but manageable for a high handicapper. Setting is absolutely spectacular. Value for money 5/5.

My son and I played the course when the prevailing South West wind was consistently in excess of 10m/s and gusting higher. What made it especially tough is the course layout, bar a couple of holes, is mostly 90 degrees to this wind direction. The wind strength on the exposed but otherwise excellent greens made the ball vibrate and apt to blow off the green. Under lesser conditions the course must be a real pleasure to play.

The reason why I scored the course layout low was because of a public footpath which runs along the Western fairways inside the Red markers. There is no clear indication of who has right of way and we were forced to wait while walkers passed the tee without even hesitating to stop and wait! This was also the case with motor vehicles as day trippers drove to and from the lighthouse at the end of the course. It led to delays in teeing off at the affected holes. Luckily the course wasn’t too busy.

I would certainly play the course again in calmer conditions so that it would be a fairer challenge for a medium (12) handicapper with a ‘fade’ bias in his swing!

From the minute we arrived we could tell we were going to have a good day, staff could have been any more friendly, help us with everything, course layout will fantastic, condition was good, views amazing couldn’t have asked for anything else, highly recommend if your in the area go play this little jem of a course

If you are in the area it’s definitely a course to play. It’s a challenge but it’s well worth it.

Played for the first time today and from start to finish loved the golf club. The course is excellent, not too long but with many tight fairways that need placement more than length, greens in excellent condition and the scenery is simply stunning, we were lucky enough to see dolphins walking onto the 5th green! Clubshop is super stocked given it's size and the pro shop staff and clubhouse staff were so friendly and helpful. Would love to play again!

Brilliant course in excellent condition. Stunning location with some tight holes which means you need to be accurate off the tee. A true links course which is well worth a visit for anyone local or visiting the area.

Researching the oldest courses in Scotland I found this one, which only claims the age of its current layout from the 1880s, but has evidence of play as far back as 1702, making it one of the very earliest golfing grounds. The spit of land is a textbook links site.

Got a great deal through GolfNow (£18 for early afternoon in June!) which made the friendly and helpful pro shake his head ruefully. Practice ground across the road, basic but serviceable.

The course is tight with lots of gorse. A couple of blind shots, but otherwise it's pretty clear where you should hit it, though my own success at that was, shall we say, intermittent.

Beautiful spot on charming & scenic Black Isle,. The course was in good shape and fun, an interesting layout with a real sense of history. Didn't see any Moray Firth dolphins, but otherwise had a splendid time.

Highly recommended.
