Golspie
Superb course in wonderful setting. Thoroughly enjoyable especially if weather is good. Tricky and testing with fierce rough. Great layout.
George
Great fun course, mix of links and park/Heath. Greens quick and testing, by the sea, amazing location and scenery, good variety of holes, just play it.
What a treat
First time at Golspie and I was not disappointed. Poor weather meant we had the course to ourselves but the weather didn't affect our enjoyment. Great course, stunning views and friendly staff. Can't wait for my next trip.
Good course, slick greens
Super wee courses. Links + Inland course. Very nice in the eye and lots of different types of hole. Greens were immaculate and fast and true. A very enjoyable day and lady in shop gave us a quick guide to hole layout and features
Quiet when we played so made it a relaxing round. Member came up to us and asked about our round and what we thought of course and said he hoped we enjoyed ourselves and would return to play there again.
Good all round day
A nice course but........
Golspie is a nice course with plenty of interesting holes and challenge but the problem is the cost. To be a fair price and good value for money £25 - £30 would be the correct range. Because of Teeofftimes hot deals we paid £40 which is the absolute top price you could justify. All the other Tee times were £60 - it’s just too much for ordinary decent golf courses - pace of play was good on a nice day because very few people were playing something we’ve noted all week at all the courses in this area !
Lovely, somewhat challenging course
Golspie has something for everyone: half the holes are links-style, the other half heathland. Swales and doglegs, several blind shots, par 3s going in different directions. And the heather was in full bloom, making the heathland holes gorgeous. Excellent and fun course.
A very enjoyable round at Golspie
Friendly greeting. Course very well kept. Great variety of holes especially excellent par 3s. Greens superb. Quite generous fairways with reasonable amount of semi rough before the real nasty stuff- do not go there!
Lovely Course
Played on a very variably day yesterday, course was very quiet so felt like we had the course to ourselves! Course is lovely, with great views of the sea on the front 8 holes moving inland for the next half dozen before coming back out onto the links to finish. Fairways in great nick, we felt the greens were slightly slow but we had played Brora the day before which were quick. Some great par 3s on the course which i really enjoyed, the 17th being quite a tester.
In terms of value for money you cannot go wrong with playing this gem and it complimented the other courses we played in the area very well. Lunch in the clubhouse was also great. Would/will play again on my next visit.
First game at golspie
Noone was at the course to greet us for our 8:00 t'time which was a big disappointment because one of us needed to rent clubs. So we started the game sharing 2 bags of clubs between 3 . On the second nine there was a hole where the tee markers had not been reset out. Grounds people were courteous when we approached areas where they wrre working. Some tees were a litle rough and the greens not as well maintained as the struie course at dornoch.
It is a challenging and interesting course with nice views. I will give it another go. But my advice to the club is to pay more attention to guests to not only get them coming back but also to maximize income. Golspie lost revenue from a lost rental, and i'm sure if there had been coffee /breakfast on offer at the start, we would have paid for it.
Up there with the very best.
Bit of a hidden gem this one but if you're anywhere around Inverness I suggest you make the effort. You will not be disappointed. Classed as a mixture of Links and heathland but the firm links fairways are consistent throughout. Probably the best collection of par threes I've ever played (We've played on championship golf courses throughout Britain and a few abroad) with undulating greens to really test your nerve. The shorter par 4's (5, 7 and 13) which were all driveable by my playing partner have the risk/reward factor that makes them so interesting......its a thinking players golf course! Highly recommended.
Great Links course
A beautiful links course. Challenging with many gorse lined fairways so easy to lose balls if you are erratic. The course was in great condition. Very basic clubhouse with no food services when we played. Not at all busy. We felt as if we were the only ones playing, although we weren't.
Highland Gem
Played this course for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by how good an experience it was. After a gentle start the course becomes more challenging as you go along the linksy coastal holes and move in to the moorland holes which wind through the gorse. It was a very enjoyable course to play with great views and a warm welcome. A hidden Highland Gem i will come back to play again.
Golspie for fun day out
Very welcoming and fair challenge for all levels
Hidden Gem
Golspie is an excellent test of golf over a links and parkland course. The course is in magnificent condition and he greens are amongst the best in the area. It plays longer than the card and is a very scenic course set by the sea. It is a must play when you are in the area. Is more than a match for the better known neighbouring courses and is excellent value for money.
