Pitreavie Golf Club has an 18-hole, parkland layout with some elements of traditional links golf mixed in. Dr. Allistair MacKenzie designed Pitreavie. In his design, he incorporated features from his favorite course, the famous Old Course at St Andrews. Rather than flattening any undulation in the landscape, MacKenzie artificially enhanced the gentle slopes but still blended them seamlessly with the natural terrain. The golf course offers panoramic views of Forth Valley for golfers to enjoy during their round. Pitreavie Golf Club provides a formidable test but it is not beyond the means of a high handicapper.

Fantastic course

First time playing this course and thoroughly enjoyable day…. Considering time of year (October) greens were absolutely superb !! Much kudos to the green keepers top work!! The course itself is laid out fantastic and challenging but defo competitive for an average golfer like myself!! I hope to play this cracker in summer to really benifit from the harder ground as some holes with the sloping fairways you could achieve some good yardage!!! Only negative was chap on reception (Monday morning blues perhaps) but was not the most helpful and dryer than a nuns chuff!!

Pitreavie was excellent.

Pitreavie was really good. A great variety of holes all in good condition. Some lovely views of the Forth bridges and valley. Very friendly and cheery staff in the clubhouse.

Long waits and slow play

The course was in good condition but it was far too busy, which is then not helped by the layout. Slow play by other groups meant it took almost two hours for play the front 9, and when we faced another 20-30 minute win on the tenth tee due to being the third waiting group.

Great fun

Lots of good holes here . Course was very well kept and even the odd place that was under repair was well highlighted and was few and far between. Signage was great aswell as it was first time playing wasnt the most straightforward but we were easily kept right with the signs. Great Course already recommended to friends . Will be back !

Pitreavie in excellent condition considering it's early in the season

Decided to book Pitreavie with a friend as hadn't played the course for over 2 years & handy for me as only 10 minutes or so away by car. For the time of year the course was in excellent condition, especially the greens. Played a few different courses in the last couple of months & Pitreavie is at the top of the list condition wise out of the courses I've played. You'll be hard pushed to find a course in such excellent condition for the time of year & for £30 on a Sunday is definitely worth a visit.

Cracking course!

Great course, good layout and some tough holes with varying heights of tees and approach shots on greens. Fairly high handicapper and I really enjoyed it.

Classic Mackenzie

Course design is impeccable, just needs tidying up condition wise.

Three groups on a tee front nine however. Never acceptable.

Wee Gem!

Great course, even with winter golf restrictions. Will recommend and be back in the spring for sure.

Pro is friendly and welcoming - bar staff not so much:

🧑🏻Hey, 3 pies, 2 sausage rolls and 2 coffees and a tee, thanks.

🤪sure, milk in the coffees?

🧑🏻please. Any sauces for the pies please?

🤪no, I'm nothing to do with the kitchen.

🧑🏻ah, ok. Any salt & pepper?

🤪no, I'm nothing to do with the kitchen.

🧑🏻ah, ok (😂), any napkins?

🤪no, I've got some toilet roll though.

Lovely Challenge

We had a really enjoyable round at Pitreavie. For what we payed we got a fantastic course and lovely day. Greens and Fairways were excellent and the whole course was in very good condition. Staff were helpful, friendly and very pleasant. We had food and drink before and after which was high quality and excellent value.
