St. Michaels Golf Club
About
St. Michael's Golf Club sits atop Gallow Hill, providing spectacular views past the River Eden to the historic buildings of St. Andrews. The course sprawls across a prehistoric settlement that is protected by Historic Scotland. The terrain is an interesting mix of wooded parkland and undulating heathland with a well-draining sandy base. The golf course features small greens and narrow fairways that place a premium on accuracy. While it may not have the prestige or the classic links layout of St. Andrews, St. Michael's Golf Club offers just as formidable a test. The challenges begin immediately on the first hole, an uphill par 4 with a fairway that slopes right to left. St. Michael's signature hole is the par-3 15th, which many consider to be the most demanding short hole in Fife. There is a large dip to the left and rear of the green, a bunker to the front right, and out-of-bounds to the left and on the railway line behind.

Great looking course
Played st.michaels for first time in 6-8 months and looks fantastic.new extension built outside clubhouse which has more table's and chairs overlooking the course.started playing here year's ago and always enjoy playing and taking in the views.only thing missing was no food.would definitely recommend.
Great course and interesting joles
My son and I had a great day out .spoke to a few members who gave us great advice and everyone was extremely friendly .golf course in great condition and enjoyed it that much my son is joining as a member.
Great course conditions
Great course, was a busy day with the weather being so good. A little bottle necked towards the last 3 holes but didn't effect the Great atmosphere
Fantastic course
Played this for the first time today and even though it’s a very open course ( hard to lose a ball )
It’s quite technically challenging with some narrow fairways, well placed trees and deep bunkers around the greens.
A couple fantastic looking Par 3s
Would definitely play here again.
St. Michaels Golf
Lovely course as this is our regular course to play on. As usual , the weather was against us at this time of year. It didn’t put me off for a great game and continued improvement of my game. Also have a chance to test my golf app for accuracy of yardage on each hole. Well done to the staff keeping the course in excellent condition. I’ll be back very soon.
Good Value for money
This course has some lovely views of the local countryside from some of the high tees.. |Fairways are generous. Pace of play was good no pressure from front or behind! Greens a little bumpy but not surprising at this time of year.
Amazing
Played this course 3 times now, alway travel from Glasgow; absolute hidden gem and not for off the links courses in St Andrews... if you think other wise you must be a Tory
A good course for all abilities
This course is suitable for all standards of golfer. Greens were particularly good, Lovely views of the surrounding areas from the course.
Heavily congested
The course is in great condition and we'll worth the money, however on arrival there was a struggle for car parking, parked near the driving range only to have some one come screaming out the kitchen to move, got to the tee at the our pre booked time and there was already group there and one on fairway, as we tee'd off another group arrived with a buggy,
The course needs some form of starter, was constantly waiting the
on every shot, with no gaps on the course
Excellent value for money
Late Autumn and the course played like a glorious Summers day, fantastic conditions and even although it was quite cold, overcast and no heat i thoroughly enjoyed my round.
My normal courses are covered with leafs at the moment and because this course has mainly Pine's you could count the leaf's on the playing surface literaly with one hand.
With it being nearly on the coast there is obviously a lot of sand as a base so very few soggy parts, another bonus.
The course is fairly safe (you will not lose many balls) and moderately easy (watch out for the 15th), an excellent walk with some nice views. I will certainly return and highly recommend a visit.
