Gullane Golf Club - No. 3

About
The Gullane Golf Club No. 3 Course was ready for play in 1910, and now the first and last trios of holes sit on the east side of Highway A198. The other 12 holes lie on the south side of Gullane Hill and offer wonderful views across the Aberlady Bay, of Edinburgh and Firth of Forth.
Do not let the official yardage mislead you: At 5,259 yards, the par-68 golf course looks small, maybe simple, and there's only a single par-5, the 443-yard 14th.
This course, however, will test the most experienced golfer.

Fantastic course
It’s a real shame that covid has shut down the off course facilities at Gullane, and all the other courses l have played throughout the summer, but the course, it’s condition and the general flow of play did not let us down, we had a very good round, weather was kind and there were some spectacular views, in between the golf., a very enjoyable day and covid won’t stop us returning.
Stunning layout
Played with friends from England who loved everything about the course and the practice area. Weather helped, not a breath of wind and wonderful views . Highly recommended
Good course to play
Always wanted to play 1 of the 3 courses, course doesn't disappoint. Rough can be hard going if you don't hit straight. Views are brilliant especially from the 5th onwards. Overall was an enjoyable experience
Lovely day on3
Beautiful day
Welcomed heartily
Greens however recently hollotined so not up to perfection
Thanks to everyone
Will be back again
First links experience
Had a great round at Gullane yesterday, first links style experience, staff gave myself and my friend an extremely warm welcome, the course was in a good condition although some greens had been sanded and had grooves running across them which (I’m not sure what the correct terminology is)made it a little hard to line up putts and read the green. There was no bins at the tees like I am used to at most courses I visit which meant having to carry my rubbish around the course which wasn’t the end of the world but it would have been good to see a bin every couple of holes. Can’t wait to come back and play one of the other courses, number 3 has definitely got me in the mood for more links style golf
Little stunner!
A tricky short course in great condition. Will definitely return
Brilliant course!
Brilliant course. Only marked down for layout as the 18th was marked as a par 4 on score card however it was a temporary par 3 (I think). Apart from that we couldn’t fault our experience - will definitely be back!
Gullane's best Value
Played this on the same day as #1 in the afternoon. This is Gullane's best value. You can get a day ticket for about $60-65. It can be added as part of a ticket to the other two courses for about $30 pounds.
All three courses go up and down on Gullane Hill and have the same wonderful views of the sea. Despite being only 5400 yards, get a two club wind and you will have the same shot-making requirements as the other two courses. The holes are still full of quality and strategy. The bunkering is even similar. The big hitter couldn't just hit it and find it like they think they could. Saw plenty of people looking for balls and changing their approach. I found this to be a fun round and a great way to warm up for a vacation in Scotland. Short course, but not short on anything of golfing joy. The only other thing that is short is the amount of time to walk 18 holes. Golf the way it was and should be everywhere-walked and played in under 3 hours.
great day out
this was the second time I've played number 3,
this time was more challenging with a strong wind.
As usual the course was in great condition and set out very well! this course presents a great challenge to the average golfer and is always a pleasure to play.
speed of play was very good the staff very welcoming
and as usual a great day out.
I will most definitely be playing this gem of a course
again!!!
