Longniddry Golf Club
About
Longniddry Golf Club is situated along the southern shore of the Firth of Forth, just a few miles east of Edinburgh. The course has a unique design that combines woodlands and links. Based on the scorecard alone, the golf course does not seem particularly long, especially not by today's standards, but don't let that fool you. Although there are no par 5s to be found on the course, golfers will come across eight par 4s that measure over 400 yards. Many of Longniddry Golf Club's holes play much longer than the indicated yardage thanks to the hilly terrain, numerous strategically placed bunkers, and mature pines. The fairways are quite generous and the greens are large, but golfers will be faced with punishing gorse and rough if their shot is even slightly wayward. The prevailing winds add another difficult element to the course.

Excellent challenging links course
I’ve played Londniddry a number of times and I’ve always found it a challenging test with a number of par 4’s in excess of 400 yards and no par 5’s on the course.
Overall it’s an excellent links course and well work playing
Rather disappointing
A friendly welcome. The course could be so much better given the decent design. One word for the condition would be scruffy. Tees not cut for days. No definition from rough to fairway. Speed of Greens varied a lot.
The worst aspect was speed of play. We took an hour longer for the round due to very slow 3 and 4 balls.
Rain Needed
This course was highly rated however, we were very disappointed with the conditions of the golf course. I would not recommend playing this course until they receive more rain and there is proper grass on the fairways & tee boxes, I will say the greens are in good condition.
Good Days Golf
Course was in good condition for this time of year.
Remidial winter work to tees and bunkers will enhance the course in the up and coming season. Staff were welcoming in the Pro shop and Clubhouse, good selection on the menu for lunch. We will be back to play at Longniddry.
Disappointing Condition
The course was in very poor condition for the cost of the green fee (£75), we played Burntisland on the 12th July for £21 each and it was immaculate with perfect greens, unfortunately the greens at Longniddry were bumpy, patchy and very poor overall
Windy but worth it!
An enjoyable afternoon’s golf on an excellent course. Pace of play was slow - just under 4 hours - mainly due to a slow fourball ahead. Course was in good condition as were the greens. Staff very friendly. A sunny afternoon but breezy conditions made it a stiff challenge. No par 5’s so a par 68 and a SS 70. Would definitely go back if price was right.
Helpful member of staff in Pro’s shop. Course was well kept and consistent, will play again on our next visit to East Lothian
Amazing course
Enjoyed a special day at Longniddry golf course. Everyone very friendly and course in excellent condition for the beginning of the season.
Definitely intend to return.
Really nice course in good condition. First time experience here was spoiled a bit by rude and obnoxious members.
A good test
I’ve played here a few times and it’s a good test with a good mix of long and short par 4s. A few recent bunker addition and gorse removal changes have made a positive difference.
A very windy day !
Visited during 3 day visit to Scotland from home in Derbyshire.
Very friendly reception from everybody we met including the Pro shop staff and various members.
We had breakfast before we went out.which was great value and top quality.
The course was terrific apart from lots of ruts on the greens which I presume were caused by some sort of green maintenance. These ruts made it very difficult to putt.
Apart from these ruts the day was great despite playing in what we thought was a hurricane but the locals described as a bit of a breeze.
Winter is coming!
Greens have begun prep for winter, covered with sand and have been tined. Course is quite challenging, especially with a strong breeze.
Good test of golf ,well laid out
Friendly welcome, course in good condition though green had been sanded , would recommend this course as a fun and enjoyable test of golf.
Greens are sublime
Great track. Pretty good challenge to score, with no par 5s. Greens are really smooth and was a real pleasure to play.
A mix of parkland and links
Would thoroughly recommend for under the 40 quid mark
Made to feel welcome by the Pro. As first timers to the course he informed us of the practice area and a little about the course. Course was busy for a Tuesday morning in winter, some would complain about it but a sign of a good course surely! 4 ball in front of our 2 ball but not held up to bad. Winter tees in operation but all greens were in play. Sun was out to start and that always helps with the enjoyment of a course. Fairways and especially greens were in excellent condition for time of year and in spite of recent rainy weather. Not a difficult course, we had no wind and there's no par 5's just a nice pleasant course with the odd tricky hole. Can imagine a low handicapper scoring very low in the right conditions and mid/ high handicaps will enjoy it. Its fairly flat, straight course with the odd dogleg or undulating fairway. Enjoyable course that I'd play again.
