Royal Musselburgh Golf Club

About
Royal Musselburgh Golf Club sits at the tip of the renowned span of golf fcourses along the East Lothian coast, and offers picture-perfect parkland play, making it a must-visit. Royal Musselburgh holds the honor of being the world's fifth-oldest, having started as the nine-hole links course, Musselburgh Levenhall. The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, Royal Burgess Golfing Society and Bruntsfield Golf Club have all golfed there.
Royal Musselbergh Golf Club's 349-yard par-4 first hole hides two fairway bunkers to the right. The 477-yard par-5 ninth requires three-shot play when fighting wind: The closer you get to the green after two strokes, the more difficult the pitch. Close down on the 410-yard par-4 18th, where it behooves golfers to carry a big stick, as going right off the tee, rather than carrying the drive to just in front of the green, is a major folly. Non members may pay to use the restaurant and bar, become social members, and get affordable course fare, as well as the chance to attend special events such as dances, buffets, and whisky tastings.

Aerified And much sand on greens
We visited as non Uk golfers. GolfNow price of 36,99 was attractive.
Greens were unplayable and if we had known before we wouldn’t have played.
Lovely course
Conditions were tremendous - the greens and fairways were very well kept and all of the members, visitors and younger golfers were very welcoming towards us. We found the course to be one of our favourite from our 3 day trip. We will definitely revisit when we are back up north.
Fantastic
Great course great greens. We really enjoyed this course would highly recommend.
Hot Deal Value
The course is in good condition it has a fun & challenging layout, however, I wouldn't pay more than £50 to play it.
Great first play
Really enjoyed my round at Royal Musselburgh. The course was in excellent condition. The people around in the club shop and on the course were very friendly. Will be back to play again soon..
Great parkland course in immaculate condition
Most enjoyable, loosener, prior to taking on some tougher challenges up here. Generous fairways and lovely shots into greens. A good price at £34.
I wouldn't pay £100 though, which seems to be the direction green fees are heading. I can't understand why golf clubs are doing this. They don't need to charge this amount, and it's not justified. It's simply to appear exclusive and expensive to attract the foreign visitors, at the expense of us in this country, just looking to play as many of these great courses in our country.
Great day out.
Really warm welcome, course really well kept and greens in excellent condition.
Later in the Clubhouse excellent service and very choice of good food served.
Will definitely be back and would recommend to friends.
Great course
Friendly helpful pro, excellent course in great condition.
Would love to play again one day.
Great afternoon of holf
Prefect weather, for a game of golf on a well looked after course, greens were well water and the ball bit and dug in!
Craig
Played this a few times and course was in great condition.
The price charged was really good. Cannot understand why the other course in Musselburgh charges £100 per round. Both courses are excellent but no logical reason for the vast price difference.
Greens were lush and smooth.
Will be back again soon.
Course was in great condition as always, fairways were nice albeit fiery (due to weather) greens ran perfectly at a good speed! As for the course layout, it may not be the memorable/exiting however it's not humdrum or a slog at any point. Staff were first class, very welcoming and helpful
