Glencorse Golf Club
About
Glencorse Golf Club was voted a hidden Scottish hidden gem by Sports Illustrated. It's not hard to see why: Founded in 1890, the club was designed by Willie Park and claims top golfers as members. Among them are the former Walker Cup Captain George Macgregor and the former Ryder Cup Captain Bernard Gallagher.
Glencorse Golf Club offers 18 holes and 5,217 yards of parkland golf that, even with eight par 3s, provides a hearty challenge: Only one hole of this octet measures less than 200 yards. The golf course provides a solid day for golfers of all levels.
As a bonus for golf tourists who are also regular tourists, Glencorse Golf Club sits nine miles from Edinburgh Castle and the city center, and a mile from Rosslyn Chapel, featured in "The Da Vinci Code."

Tough Par 3’s
Glencorse appears like it may be an easy short course when checking the scorecard but beware….the par 3 holes are not short and streams are in play on quite a few holes. Course in lovely condition after the dry spell with smooth greens. Food in clubhouse after round was excellent and staff very friendly. Highly recommend visiting this course
Great quirky wee course
A short course but far from easy with lots of water hazards and trees to punish wayward or under hit shots . Staff and members were very friendly . Will definitely return
Absolute Gem
I was a member of this fantastic course years ago before moving house to a different location. Going back there and taking two friends to play it was a real treat. From meeting Cliffe in the pro-shop again to playing this fantastic course it was a totally enjoyable day. Not a long course but one you need to pick your way round and lots of tricky, long Par 3’s. All of us said we can’t wait to get back again. Thanks to Cliffe and his staff for the friendly welcome and the greens staff for having the course in such a great condition. Would recommend this course to anyone.
The course has great features
Was disappointed to have booked a tee time on Sunday to turn up and find out we would be playing winter tees and winter greens, I think this would have at least been communicated given the £15 to play it. Looks like it will be a fantastic course in the summer and would definitely come back and play when the course is fully open.
Great test
You have to play this course it tests your course managment with club selection and ball positioning from tee to green. Has a good range of different holes from long par 3s to short par 3s and a few dog legs which need accuracy with water running through alot of holes to make it even harder with the added bonus of elevated tees on some holes. Expected winter greens at this time of the year to be told 1 out of 18 great credit must go to green keepers. Overall you want be disapointed playing here and will definatley be back very welcoming staff and just a good all round day out go see for yourself
Very friendly club, challenging course!
Warm welcome at the Pro shop and some advice for the first couple of holes. Raging burn running through many of the holes so lost a few balls! Some long Par 3s but enjoyed the challenge of each hole and the stunning views from the 15th & 18th tee boxes. Course was in great condition despite the recent rain & the greens were excellent. Struggled to find the next tee box a couple of times. Clubhouse looked good but didn’t have time to stay. Let a few members through & all very friendly. We’ll be back!
Loved it
Dispite being autumn with leaves on the ground that's my only drawback but every parkland would be the same this time of year. Fantastic layout and alot of holes over a stream to go over so laying up sometimes if playing conservatively,
definitely be back.
