Pelham Bay at Pelham/Split Rock Golf Course

Worst experience ever. Had a 2:15 Tee time couldn't complete. They over booked and let the herd ahead of us in 7 minutes after each tee times... it took us over 5 hours to reach 15 hole... we had to give up!!!! No rangers to complain about the pace ahead of us- there was this Korean woman who was taking 10 shots to get to complete a par 4 while his husband is looking for his ball around the green - it was frustrating experience!!!!!! Never again!!!!

2 / 5 stars - I arrived at the course early that morning excited to strike some balls through the cool fall breeze. At the time, I didn’t know how terrible of an experience awaited me. I couldn’t hit one ball straight. Whether it was an iron, driver or putting of the ball, I could not execute. The course was long with rough grass areas - I was slicing many shots into several trees that occupy the premises. The greens moved fast and were smooth so the ball picked up tremendous speed and lost focus. Terrible experience and I recommend that you avoid. Look elsewhere

Played on a Sunday, 6 hours ! ,Far too much time with the mosquitoes. Clubhouse didn’t sell bug spray. I like the courses but if they’re going to pack them and have 0 rangers to move people along then it’s not tolerable. Lots of angry frustrated golfers made for a miserable day; despite good companions and beautiful weather.

Dreadfully slow group in front of our threesome but patience was rewarded. Lost 6 balls between 3 players and all in overgrown rough!

Greens and fairways in good shape. Hope to return soon.

Staff was extremely rude, entitled, nonchalant. Pace of play was ridiculously slow, not worth it AT ALL, nice enough course but the people and pace overshadow it. Play someplace else and only play this place when there is a hot deal, there is a reason they usually have so many tee times! Golfer beware

Figure our a better solution for checking out and returning carts. A total débâclé and waste of time with little to no organization. And time to upgrade carts. Spine adjustment necessary after riding in carts.

Course in good shape, carts are always filthy dirty, parking lot looks like it’s been “bombed” and in major need of repaying!!

I must say, overall this course is a great city course. We played Split Rock this time around and the layout is a lot of fun, depending on the day I could see how pace of play could get slow on a weekend, but today it was about a 4.5 hour round.

Tee boxes overall, good to very good, only a few that were in rough shape.

Fairways overall very good for this time of year/this late in the season.

Greens were a lot of fun, in great shape and fast today!

Bunkers are the only thing I’d rate on the low end of the spectrum. Probably a 2 out of 5 and that might be generous, hard packed and muddy for the most part.

Staff was friendly, nice to see a ranger on the course now and then to help keep the pace up.

There ya go, overall I’m impressed with the courses I’ve played out here.
