Fairways were in good shape two green were damaged Photo submitted by phischman on 08/07/2013
Many cart paths rutted with holes. Bad drainage a perpetual problem on Split rock. Not a single ball washer ANYWHERE. STOP USING COVID AS AN EXCUSE FOR THESE TYPES IF SHORTCOMINGS!!!
Greens need work ( rolling and cutting )
Granted that it is early spring but the Greens should be the priority . The fairways could use an early Weed and Feed application to give the grass a kick start .
It is a fun course , just needs better attention .
* On each course there should be 2 Porta John`s on approx. 5 or 6 th. hole . There are Women as well as men on the courses .

Unless you live in the city, don’t bother
I normally don’t play the state courses close to the city, and I was reminded today why. Teetimes were slim everywhere but happened to get a 12pm slot the day of. First time out for the season so why not. Total confusion as to where to wait/get a cart, as there are hoards of golfers standing around. Pace of play is unbearable, 5 and a half hour round, 1.5 hours on 3 holes alone. I’ll give a them a little break for course conditions since is early season, but it wasn’t good. Layout is nothing to write home about, pretty plain. Overall it is not worth 60 round, especially when the cart barely works. I can play other Westchester county courses for less and they are way better.
Slow play
For an early season round the course was in not to bad of condition. The pace of play is much to long. It took more than 5 hours for 18 holes. There are no rangers on the course.
Chilly and blustery
Anxious to get out after not playing for 5 months. Not many options locally as snow was still on the ground in most courses near by. I've played PB/SR before and they're decent courses. Nothing real extravagant or overly challenging. Pace was good but the wind got worse as the day wore on. I'll definitely play here again though it is not someplace I play every year.
Too many young men working from home and taking time off to play golf. There should be a time period set aside for seniors.
Green keeper
I’m not sure if Split Rock has a green keeper for this course. They obviously have a geese problem and it shows
Poor conditions but early in the season
I played the Split Rock course. Not particularly difficult but requires decent shot accuracy. The fairway were most dirt with some grass patches. Traps were not sandy and filled with branches and leaves. The greens were bumpy. It's early in the season but the course was not ready play. Also, very slow. Left after 12 holes and 4 hours. .
usually good muni
first time back in a while but just opened after snow thaw. course in rough condition between duck poop and tree balls the size of golf balls sometime making balls hard to find or shot up on greens.
alas though this is winter golf. you cannot expect great conditions. the only thing i do not like is if using golf now you have no choice of course, you always get split rock now.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
Aww poor baby. Did it hurt your feelings when they hit it farther than you? Go join a country club you crusty old bag. I'm sure the "young men" who had to endure the 7 hour round playing behind you would approve.
What a pathetic attitude.
Shall we ban seniors from playing outside traditional working hours since it’s the only time _young men_ can play?
Golf is for anyone and everyone no matter their age, or their work arrangements.
