Disappointed
Course is not maintained at all. Tee boxes are hard and bare. Bunkers are like cement with more rocks than a prison yard. Greens are OK but very slow. Won’t play here again many other courses available for the same price and in superior shape.
disappointing
once again staff was more concerned with pairing two twosomes than keeping players assigned to their tee times. Thus, we were held 45 minutes passed tee times. Thus, players who paid extra for the earlier tee time, but, went out at the later tee time without a credit for the later tee time.
sand in rough shape
Bunkers are pretty brutal right now -- they're basically hard mud piles.
Rest of the course is pretty standard for Dyker.
Slow play on concrete conditions
Slow play and no on course ranger to assist. Tee boxes were impenetrable to tee and greens rumbled like the jungle they were. Course should offer refunds for conditions this horrible. Would recommend all golfers to stay away.
Not what it used to be
Other than pace of play which was excellent mainly I’m guessing because no players as course conditions have deteriorated to an very poor condition. Greens ok, but not cut, fairways and tee boxes are a misti[rye of dirt and something green more like crabgrass., I have played this course for well over 20 years and it may well be in the worst condition in all that time. My cart made it through the round though several times I wasn’t quite sure. Needless to say, until I hear differently I will not be back and wouldn’t recommend it to anybody, with hot weather coming, only going to get worse.
Dyker Beach - Golf in Brooklyn - It is what it is!
Course has the original layout which is good for all types of golfers. Unfortunately, the course needs a lot of TLC...greens were pretty good to be fair, tee boxes were bare of grass in spots and uneven, fairways we rock hard and could do with aerating, pathways had pot hits in them and bunkers are unplayable (regulars play them as GIR apparently!!).
The management company could do with putting their hands in their pockets to restore the course back to its original state. It seems to be used as a cash cow with very little invested back into the course. Until then, it is what it is!
Safety
I had to pay a extra fee to avoid sharing a cart. With a stranger. The virus is still with us & we shouldn’t have to pay to share a cart
Not what it used to be
Dyker used to be the premier course in Brooklyn. Now it's just another public course. The fairways are hard as rock, with poor grass, there are downed trees all over, and the greens are in poor condition. Sad to see it fall off like this. Hopefully the staff picks Olyphant their game and gets the course back in shape again!
Definitely an experience
My first time playing NYC golf. While it is not the greatest course in the world, for the money it gets the job done. Course is not too difficult and fun to play. Day was completed by a local youth running onto the course to steal the flag.
Eli
Look if you live in the area and find a good deal to play a round it serves the purpose.
