Excellent morning round
Great round in the morning. Slight congestion however, it is a popular spot. Greens run fast on a sunny day and carts are excellent. Alway love coming out here when I get a chance too.
Holes seem longer than the ones in queens which I like. Forgiving to say the least lol. Putting skills will be tested!
Course is a ways to go to be ready for the season
Not sure which was worse, the goose poop on the fairways (every where) or the sand coated greens but it made for a frustrating round. Luckily the weather was pleasant and the pace of play was good. It’s also the first time I see a temporary green made in the middle of a fairway, 8th hole. I must admit someone was creative with the tee markers, please see picture attached.
Poor conditions for an expensive round.
Greens, fairways and bunkers are in below average condition. For them to charge $65 a round is preposterous considering they aren’t keeping up with the quality of the course.
Excuses for poor rating winter and covid.
The location is still amazing I can just jump in the subway and play golf.
The course has really gone down hill
In the past this course was maintained very well, but since the pandemic it has been virtually left alone and is not enjoyable to play at anymore
good
The course located in the city and a lot of people play golf there, yet the course condition is fairly good to play .
Course in a scandalous condition
The course was in a scandalous condition for that price it seems like your playing in a park and not a golf course. First of all the tee box are not great, most of the time there is very little grass and your feet can't stand well as it's not flat. The fairways are bad, lets not speak about the rough that are in even worst. The greens are so slow and sandy. The worst part are the bunkers, I have never seen bunkers in those conditions, half send, half mud, lots of stones, and bushes inside.
The pace was so slow, it took us 3h30 to do 13 holes, we were waiting 5 to 10 mins most of the time before starting a new hole. We decided to leave them as we were getting cold and frustrated. Most surprisingly, they do not have enough carts, the staff is waiting for the players to finish to then give people a cart. We wonder if they even disinfect them before giving them to you. It is a big game as the course itself has a lot of potential, the layout is interesting with a bit of variation, I'm sure that a few years ago it was beautiful golf, now it seems like with COVID they just stopped maintaining the course.
I will never go back there.
Fun course but greens a mess
All the reviews are accurate. A fun course with friendly staff but the greens and tee boxes are a horror show. It’s a 5 hr round on weekends
You’ve got to be kidding me
I’ve played this course many times over the years and honestly preferred it to the only other Brooklyn course. I snuck out to get a round in today and despite the things I’ve heard about Dyker this year I booked a tee time.
Right before teeing off the foursome I was part of was informed dyker was aerating and we’d be playing the front nine twice.
What?
No word about this on the website and no discount. I was put off but whatever, I’m still out playing on a random Wednesday so I figured I’ll make the best of it.
After hitting our drives we approached our balls planning to hit our approaches. That’s when we noticed the ‘greens’ were beige!!
There literally was so much sand on the greens that you could not see any green (see picture).
C’mon Dyker. As a lifelong Brooklyner I know a hustle when I see one. This was absolutely pathetic and I seriously doubt I’ll EVER play this track again.
Too bad. Dyker is pretty convenient for me to get out to on these rare golfable hooky days...
