You’ve got to be kidding me
I’ve played this course many times over the years and honestly preferred it to the only other Brooklyn course. I snuck out to get a round in today and despite the things I’ve heard about Dyker this year I booked a tee time.
Right before teeing off the foursome I was part of was informed dyker was aerating and we’d be playing the front nine twice.
What?
No word about this on the website and no discount. I was put off but whatever, I’m still out playing on a random Wednesday so I figured I’ll make the best of it.
After hitting our drives we approached our balls planning to hit our approaches. That’s when we noticed the ‘greens’ were beige!!
There literally was so much sand on the greens that you could not see any green (see picture).
C’mon Dyker. As a lifelong Brooklyner I know a hustle when I see one. This was absolutely pathetic and I seriously doubt I’ll EVER play this track again.
Too bad. Dyker is pretty convenient for me to get out to on these rare golfable hooky days...
Dyker Beach Golf Course
Fun course with a great staff! Course layout is super easy to follow and mostly straight fairways. Great for novice players. Greens are slow.
Nice course
Over all nice course. Rough and bunkers need some work. Good price.
Awful course
This course was a huge disappointment. The fact they charge $75 is a disgrace. The tee boxes were pretty much like teeing off on a baseball field. The greens were like putting in a bunker. The bunkers were unplayable. Do yourself a favor and take the extra time to drive to NJ or Long Island.
Course COVID Casualty
In sad shape since NYC delayed opening municipal courses for so long. Fairways chewed up, lots of overgrowth. Hopefully will be restored for next spring along with catering facility.
Has potential but currently not worth the money
City course, decent layout, nestled in brooklyn. Great for people living near by, just wish NYC kept it up. Great potential, but this is one the worst maintained courses played this year. Sand traps are filled with beach sand, crabgrass. Fairways are not well maintained with many patches of hard dirt. Greens putted nice, but couldn’t get a chip shot to stick, just kept rolling. If it was $50 with cart, Id consider playing for a nice cheap round. But not for $80. I guess with covid people are willing to play and keep this place booked. And management seems to have caught on to this fact and let the place go. Got my money too. Will not be returning.
Solid track
It’s a good course. There’s obviously some issues left over from Covid but the starter acknowledged it to us right away. Can’t really blame them given what’s happened in nyc this year. Greens were mostly good and a nice amount of interesting holes. For a course in Brooklyn it’s quite good and surprisingly long. Staff was super friendly. No doubt would play again.
unexpected
this course was greatly maintained at one time maybe because of covid your staff has been throttled down some ,, always loved Dyker never dreamed the day that marine park would be in much better shape. had guest from New Jersey was very embarrassed
Bad
I think $75.50 is way too much money. For a golf course that's not in good condition there was a storm about a month ago and trees fell down and the trees are still there sand traps a horrible grass growing out of the sand traps greens aren't in great condition and neither are the fairways
