Terrible!!!
Save your money!!! They have let this course completely go. I understand it’s tough times but that’s no excuse for the condition and not to have one single person working on the course. Sand traps are full of grass and weeds, some fairways are horrible, tee boxes are dirt, and greens are ok - the grass on the greens was long and they def weren’t rolled. I will not be coming back here until they fix it up, not worth the 75 on a weekend for the conditions.
Dyker
To much money to play on this course that’s not in good shape. Bunkers full of crab grass and dirt. Some fairways are burnt up
Nice course needs a little work
Course was nice but the bunkers and tee boxes need some improvement. But overall good place to play
Don’t play here
Course was in the worse condition I’ve seen maybe ever, grass growing out of all the bunkers, half the tee boxes had no grass. Greens were super slow and bumpy. Play somewhere else.
Have been playing this course for over 20 years and they have let it go, it’s a complete dog track with trees growing out of the sand traps. They can’t blame covid because it has been going down hil for quite sometime now.
Grass in the bunkered
Sorry but u have to maintain the course, i heard the workers were furloughed. grounds were HORRIBLE! but the golf was good, the greens were Ok, the pace of play was good, 4.5 hrs. I will play here again but it will be awhile
Not a bad place for quick round
The course could be very nice, but they are very lazy in the upkeep. The club house has weeds that are growing like trees. All the sand traps are filled with weeds. They maintain the course enough to make it playable but not much more.
Not worth the money
Definitely not worth $65. Staff was nice, but one of the worst conditions I’ve seen a golf course in. We would take our balls out of the sand trap instead of hitting them out of those death pits. Not maintained whatsoever/overgrown/hard as rock. Fairways were decent, greens below average. Garbage cans overfilled and spilling over the course. Would not recommend.
The bunkers are over grown with weeds and hornets and some teeboxes are unplayable. Most greens and fairways are in good shape. They don’t have any lunch as they have in the past so bring food or plan your tee time accordingly. In the past the course has been good and needs to get back to that.
Not recommended - go over the bridges
Played Dyker today for the first time in over 20 years. Wish I would have waited a bit longer and play my usual Staten Island and New Jersey courses.
Let’s start with the good : the greens were in decent shape ( a bit slow) and the tee boxes were in for shape
The bad; fairways were horrible with many areas looking like a softball field outfield. Dry , burnt and patchy with more hard pan that actual grass.
The rough was recently cut in many areas and was so overgrown there was dead decomposing grass a few inches high in spots.
Had a fun time with some new and old friends but I won’t be returning to Dyker anytime soon. For the price , there are much better courses in SI and Jersey.
Terribly Condition
Played Dyker for the first time this year. Course was in terrible conditions. Tee box grass was like first cut rough. Fairways had a bunch of dirt patches. Bunkers were like cement in some areas and insufficient sand in others. Rough was US rough along with British Open fescue. The only positive were the greens. Greens were in decent shape considering a few greens were being watered just before approach or tee shots. Will go to Marine Park next time.
Day of golf
Played with 3 nice guys. The layout is so so. Water spots, bare areas and aeration made it not so good. A lot of walkers slowed the pace.
