Terribly Condition
Played Dyker for the first time this year. Course was in terrible conditions. Tee box grass was like first cut rough. Fairways had a bunch of dirt patches. Bunkers were like cement in some areas and insufficient sand in others. Rough was US rough along with British Open fescue. The only positive were the greens. Greens were in decent shape considering a few greens were being watered just before approach or tee shots. Will go to Marine Park next time.
Day of golf
Played with 3 nice guys. The layout is so so. Water spots, bare areas and aeration made it not so good. A lot of walkers slowed the pace.
Dyker In February
Course was good and pace of play we real good...Greens were a little rough but it is February in Brooklyn, NY. Really good course for the money...
Golf in January
Beautiful day to get out today. Place was not crowded. Staff always courteous and helpful. Course was in good condition. Played with a very nice couple. Enjoyed my day. Wish there could be more throughout the winter!! Lol
Best Around
Dyker is my favorite layout of the city courses by far. Great variation of holes. Although crowded today, we still got around in less than 5 hours. For January the conditions were immaculate!
6 hour round+
3 foursomes on every hole. No rangers to move people along. No refreshment carts to rehydrate you while you suffer from the horror you are witnessing...fairways horribly....greens have 100+ unfixed ballmarks...holes everywhere...what a terribly run place....they only care about getting your $75+ instead of pacing the play on the first hole. I'll never recommend or play this course ever again....
Just ok!
Played here on 11/27. Course was in the shape you expect it to be in for November. This course isn’t too challenging, good course for beginners. It’s almost impossible to lose a ball. I think they are crazy still charging people summer rates to play this course this time of the year. If you can get a good deal on golf now it’s worth it just to get out. Otherwise do not pay over $60 to play here in the winter
Brooklyn Golf
Course is pretty beat up but that’s somewhat expected this late in the season. Burned out areas (No grass at all) in some fairways and on greens. But it’s golf in Brooklyn so it is what it is I guess.
Course has some interesting holes but is relatively open (not too many trees) and can definitely get busy (slow) on weekends. I play at Van Cortlandt up in the Bronx a lot so this can be a nice change of pace and is also accessible by subway.
A country type atmosphere in City type setting
Love playing this course because it’s so close to home. Feels like I’m in the country while playing here. It’s a nice get away without the long drive.
Underrated
10 minute walk from the R. The course is part of a wedding venue so the property is great. Can get a bit backed up on par 3’s but you’re playing in NYC. Highly recommend
This course is a great get away !
My Brother in-law and I had a great time. It’s always nice to get away from city life while you’re still actually in the city.
