Dyker Beach Golf Course

Course is great and I have played many times. It is always a full course. A line waiting for your tee time. I’m ok with actually, I am not in a rush.

Plus the day I went there was a golf outing that day. So makes sense.

Solid course layout, course is in terrible condition but I played in February. No frills pro shop, no range. Small practice green available.

Course is easy to navigate, tee boxes are close to greens on the previous hole. I played with a group of great guys who regularly play at Dyker beach and say how the course is completely different in the summer due to the trees blooming, higher grass etc. I also understand the pace of play during the season is slow at best, it is one of the most played courses in the country. I will try to play there at some point this season.

Booked a 12:00 tee time for two and did not tee off until 1:20. There were 5 groups ahead of us on the 1st tee box and they clearly overbooked the course. The pace of play was a joke and we ended up leaving after 13 at almost 6pm. It’s a shame since the course is in good shape, but definitely never playing here again.

Decent muni course BUT they consistently overbook and bump tee times, not telling you in advance. I had an 11:15 booking, was bumped for a “late group outing.” Teed off at 12:40, finished a ridiculously slow round at 5:50pm. Five hour plus round after a 90min delay?! Disgraceful.

Teed off 30 minutes late and played in 6 hours. No drinking water in the many jugs. One green (11) was unplayable. Several fairways were just dirt with a few clumps of grass.

My first time there , Pro shop was very friendly and explained course layout . Course was in great shape and great layout! will play here more often!!

Having a friendly Ranger moving play along is a positive.

Greens terrible shape also no ones fixes pitch marks and groundskeepers decided to aerate one green while we were teeing off.

This updates my prior review and adds a few more pictures. This course has some nice features and variety. Doglegs, elevated par-3s,, tiered and well-contoured greens, a mix of long and short par-4s. The property rolls nicely without being severe and the undulations are woven into the golf holes in a good way.Most holes give you plenty of room off the tee. The back 9 has a couple of quirky holes and some simple back and forth, but overall this a a classic old-school, easily walkable, interesting golf course.

They over book tee times so no matter when you play it’s at least a six-hour round. We showed up to play twilight on a Saturday and our round didn’t start until an hour and thirty minutes after our scheduled tee time. They are understaffed and do a poor job managing the pace of play as well as the course conditions.

I've played here before and it took about 35 minutes to get out, but after that it picked up. Yesterday was a 6 hour round. slow the whole way. Course was in good condition and staff was friendly. Just frustratingly slow. Also no hot food at the turn after 3pm, which stinks.

For the money you could go play any other course and it be more enjoyable. It too over 3 hours to play 9 holes, I won't be playing here again.
