Beautiful long distance views from much of the course. Photo submitted by TatayG on 05/09/2018
Mill Creek in October
Lots of rain this week. Fairways were soft as expected, bunkers were not prepped or raked, but greens were outstanding.
Great place to play golf
The course is challenging, but enjoyable. The greens and fairway were in excellent condition.
A solid Rochester golf course.
This was my first time playing this course and I was pleasantly surprised. The course has a varied set of holes that really engaged me the whole round. Definitely an underrated course for the area in a town with many great golf courses. A very tastefully done links style course. On top of it, a good snapshot of the glacial geology of the region if one is interested in that.
Course was great especially the greens bunkers are awful over all fun to play
Traps are improving
Course was in pretty good shape. Work has been ongoing to replace the sand in traps and while playing a couple of weeks ago we thought that sand traps were being converted to grass bunkers but we’re fill with new sand this time around. Good progress. Still many rock filled bunkers to go.
Mill creek
Always fun to play, tough but fair.great shape
Will go back
Don’t stray past the first cut of rough
We had a beautiful day on the course. With the wet spring the “Heather” has grown dramatically. My friend is 6’ 2” and one spot he walked into was nose tall. The rough should be cut and bailed as you have to know exactly where your shot went in to have any hope of finding the ball. The greens had been sanded so were a bit inconsistent speed wise and had some small stones which required clean up before putting. Hopefully cutting them will clean those up. The rest of the course was in good shape and the greens crew was out cleaning up stones/rocks in some sand traps.
Mill Creek
Nice course. Many sand traps were either under repair or being converted to grass bunkers. The only complaint I had was that the greens were a bit hairy and even down hill putts were slow.
Great course and layout.
Course is great. Worth the drive. Only negative is the bunkers. T Needs more sand and screened for rocks.
Must play
Great shape , traps need some help, everything else very good
Needs new sand
When I played Mill Creek last year the shop staff told me that they were planning to replace the sand in the traps as most of the sand was either mud or filled with rocks. After a few times in, one of the other members of the group mentioned that a lot of people removed their balls from the traps. The furrows were very solid and trying to rake the sand was almost impossible since the consistency was more like mud, Given the rocks, I wouldn't take a chance on ruining a club. I know the conditions have been wet this spring but there was rough around a couple of the greens that made Pebble Beach look easy. I don't care to play in that type of condition. The fairways were in good shape with just a couple spots that were wet. The first cut of rough was manageable to play out of but don't let a shot get into the "heather" as it was a guaranteed lost ball.
Course needs work
Very disappointed with the course. Bunkers are a disaster, marginal sand. Range balls were junk. Odd hole layouts. Greens were very slow. Would not play the course again.
