Beautiful long distance views from much of the course. Photo submitted by TatayG on 05/09/2018
Does not live up to expectations
Very disappointed with overall condition. I played there for a scramble tournament. Had heard good things about the course, but my experience did not represent that. The positive is the course has a beautiful layout that could be fairly forgiving if the rough was not so long.
Greens: They seemed to be diseased in some way. Very spotty. Also ran slow due to being so long.
Sand traps: All were under maintained. They were not raked and were like hitting off of concrete. None of them were edged.
Fairways: These were in pretty good shape. I probably would have played better had I spent more time in the fairway. Some of the fairways were muddy, but that could be weather related.
Rough: well groomed in some areas, but most were very long (6"+). This was a major impact on pace of play as we spent a long time on almost every hole looking for balls.
Tees: overall ok. Not great, but not horrible.
Nice Course - Amazing Hot Deal!
Mill Creek is a tough course, and with some blind shots it is difficult for a first timer to play well. We were lucky enough to get paired with a nice guy who was very familiar with the course to help us out. The fairways and tees are really good, and the greens are tough, with serious undulation and grain. And the views, holy cow! up on top of the hills its amazingly beautiful! However, the bunkers are terrible, look like they belong on a muni, and the rough was at nearly US open length, like 6+ inches greenside in spots. The course being difficult and the long rough did make for a slow round (5+hours) and we would have loved to see a ranger actually come out and tell the group in front of us to speed up, they had created about a 3 hole gap from the people infront of them. Overall the course is very nice, and I landed a great hot deal ($9 per person after a coupon code!). Would definitely play again, but probably not at the normal $60+ greens fee.
The coarse was in great shape for the wet spring!
The coarse is plenty challenging for my length. The pin placements were in some very suspect locations especially #16 with the shared #3 green. It did rain off and on during the front nine witch is always hard to deal with. Everyone in our foursome commented that they enjoyed the coarse and would return another day. Great views on the coarse and from the clubhouse!
Best public course in Monroe County
My personal favorite course in the Rochester area.
Mill Creek has all the challenge and fun of Ravenwood, minus the smug Eastside attitude AND minus $30 a round!!!
To many blind shots
Course has nice layout but has several holes with blind shots and was cart path only so was a bit of pace killer
Almost 6 hour round
Too many tee times on a rainy day Saturday.
No starter on a golf course Saturday morning/afternoon?
No ranger to tell people to pick up pace?
Great value, good condition based on circumstances
We booked our tee time earlier in the week not knowing it would be low 40’s and snowing the day of. The course was very wet, but even so was in very good condition, with the exception of some tee boxes having several puddles. We were 1 of 2 twosomes playing on the entire course, so pace was never an issue.
Course is worth the hot deal value but not the full rates
So I started golfing 4 years ago and when I played this course then it was about a 4.5/5 since then it has seriously diminished, I'd give it a 3 at most. But if you can play it for around 20 bucks, it's worth it. Greens are super slow
Fairways
The fairways couldn't have been any better considering the amount of rain that has fallen this month. Matter of fact the fairways were like a green carpet. Other than for a cold wind that was present all day, my friend and I enjoyed the time we had at Millcreek. A beautiful course with a nice layout and picturesque beauty
Top 5
Easily one of the hardest courses in the area. Great layout with very difficult rough, wicked greens and trouble on every hole.
Primo course
If you appreciate a course that is manicured, challenging, yet fair with opportunities to score you will love this course. The fairways are pristine and greens quick , but very fair. I drove almost 40 minutes to get there and would do it again tomorrow.
Fairways and Greens in great shape.
Best course in the Rochester area.
Hope to play again before the end of season.
Nice September day
The conditions have been very dry and the course was well watered, however, the greens were pretty spiked/scuffed up by the early golfers (couldn't believe how many times some people scuffed their spikes across the greens - not the course's fault) which made putting on some holes an adventure. The only other complaint we had was the young person driving the refreshment cart around - they were plugged into their mobile phone and did not pay attention to golfers hitting shots/putting (just kept driving the noisy cart around us) and didn't even look up a couple times to see if we wanted anything. I mentioned this at the turn to the pro shop who were apologetic about it.
Great fairways
This was the first time I ever played Mill Creek. I was very impressed with the t boxes and fairways. The course was very challenging. The greens were a little slow due to being wet from the rain. The staff was very friendly. Overall a very good time was spent here
