Designed by Robin Nelson, The Dunes at Maui Lani is immaculately maintained and brilliantly laid out. It is a tribute to the great links courses of Ireland that more than one golf writer has described as a "British Open course on Maui." Stunning dunes dot the terrain at every corner, challenging the golfer at every hole.
In addition to 18 holes of championship golf, The Dunes offers the only lighted practice range in central Maui, with grass tees, fairway and green-side bunkers and a pitching and putting green, plus an air-conditioned pavilion. Also, when not on the golf course, golfers can enjoy a four-star meal at Cafe O'Lei at The Dunes.

Best golf now deal ever
The Dunes can be a challenging course with its hilly fairways and some sneaky water holes and bunkers. Greens were pretty slow and some were not in the best shape, but it was pretty humid so maybe that affected the speed. Pace was a little slow, but they did get us out early. Price on golf now was awesome for a tourist, so I definitely can't complain!
Great course
The course is in great shape. The gas carts are a little sluggish on slopes but manageable. Great views on each hole and very much a challenge to play. I will come back to this fun course.
Tough but beautiful
The course itself was challenging with beautiful views. Everyone was friendly. The greens were challenging
Perfect
This course is a very family friendly design and the staff was awesome.
Best public course in Maui
Located outside the golf hotbeds of Kapalua and Wailea, near enough and priced right. Pace was excellent overall with some jam ups in the back 9. Greens and Tees were in great shape and placed to provide challenging play. Also took advantage of Golfnow “hot deals” making it ever more of a value. Staff and pro shop were good. Worked out perfectly our last day prior to flying out as close to the airport.
Good Round
Enjoyed the course. Greens in good shape. Only thing that would help would be a little guidance on holes where the problematic terrain can’t be seen. Eg #16
Dunes Play
The course was in decent shape but the greens could use some attention. The check in was very weird, the starter couldn't tell us if it was on time, slow, or when we could start. We sat and waited for a few minutes and then just started on our own. There was no drink cart on the course and we never saw a course marshal, The front 9 moved smoothly, the back nine was backed-up.
A nice track
Overall, it was a great course. The greens were really fast, and the conditions were great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating - great value.
Sunny Maui
The course was in great shape with the exception of the green on 11. The front half of the green looked scorched. Other than that, the course played extremely well. There are a lot of picturesque holes.
