Designed by Robin Nelson, The Dunes at Maui Lani is immaculately maintained and brilliantly laid out. It is a tribute to the great links courses of Ireland that more than one golf writer has described as a "British Open course on Maui." Stunning dunes dot the terrain at every corner, challenging the golfer at every hole.
In addition to 18 holes of championship golf, The Dunes offers the only lighted practice range in central Maui, with grass tees, fairway and green-side bunkers and a pitching and putting green, plus an air-conditioned pavilion. Also, when not on the golf course, golfers can enjoy a four-star meal at Cafe O'Lei at The Dunes.

Beverages cart
Not being able to buy drinks or beer is a big negative.
Beautiful
Great mountain views. Staff was friendly. Locals that played were considerate of peace of play. Fun coarse with some challenging holes!
Nice Course
The on site restaurant food was good. Had breakfast to go to eat on course.
Had a few rain sprinkles then passed through quickly.
Play was a little slow.
Course in good condition. My husband liked the up and down play of the elevation.
I liked the extra distance on par 5s on red tees.
Practice Round
The course layout is ok. The condition of the course is not great. The staff favors the locals. There is not great offerings for food and there is no beverage cart. The weather was the best part of the day. Just being in Maui speaks volumes.

What a beautiful, well maintained course, and a value - I'd have expected to pay 2x or more for a course like this in Hawaii.

The course is in great condition, both greens and fairways. Some great views also! It will test your skills!
Interesting and challenging holes
Good layout and with greens good condition and moderate speed.
Pace of play
There was a single player two spots in front of us that was hitting two balls,very slow pace today!!!
Great Variety
There is a great variety of holes requiring a great variety of shots. Rolling hills, elevation changes and some blind shots make for an interesting experience. We were fortunate to catch this course on a day of little to no wind which made things much easier.
A fun and challenging course
We enjoyed our round at the dunes. The driving range was scenic, but not in the best condition so we were a little worried heading out to the course, but the fairways were in good shape and the greens were beautiful - except that so many people had not fixed their ball marks!! The fairways were mostly fairly wide and forgiving, but on several holes we needed to decide if it was worth taking out driver or playing it safe. Lots of elevation change - quite dramatic on some holes. The views of west Maui or Haleakala from almost every hole were quite stunning. We are playing this course again next week and looking forward to it - it’s definitely a course where knowing what’s ahead will help.
Good value for money and we recommend it to anyone.
