The Dunes At Maui Lani Golf Course

Overall, currently the best golf value on Maui.

Fairways and greens are in good condition, but like many courses on Maui, there is almost no sand in the traps and some are baked mud.

Signage is good, but the course layout can be confusing if you miss one.

Lots of traps, wind, elevation changes, and undulating fairways and greens make the course challenging. But the good condition of the greens and generally wide fairways keep it fair.

A good meal and drinks are available at an Argentinian steak restaurant in the clubhouse.

It was my first time playing. For the price the course was in reasonable condition. Greens are slower to most in Hawaii due to the type of grass that’s used.

I enjoyed the course and layout. The only thing that’s annoying is the pace of play. We were waiting on most holes. I don’t understand why they can’t make the tee times further apart so play isn’t slowed up. It always seems like the case on most courses I play in Hawaii.

Strict cart return policy. We had a 3pm tee time and it wasn’t supposed to get dark until almost 7 PM so we figured we could get a whole round in. Upon check-in they tell you the carts have to be back by 6 PM and they send somebody out to make sure you head in prior to 6 PM. And they turn on the sprinklers which are hard to avoid on the way back in just for good measure. Would’ve been nice if that was mentioned prior to booking the reservation.

Best kept secret on Maui. Awesome layout. The wind lays down in the morning. afternoons, the wind can be very challenging

Love this course easy to get on just relaxing and no stress course

Really enjoyed our round. Plenty of sand as you would expect. Challenging layout. Greens were very slow. All in all, a real good value for the money. The carts are equipped with a warning system so that an irritating noise goes off, sometimes even when you are on the cart path. It took us a while to figure it out. They should have told us about that before we left.

I only had one day to play golf. The Dunes was an excellent choice. It’s conveniently located and the driving range is open until 9 pm. The course is in immaculate condition and presents a good challenge for all level of golfers.

Beautiful course. Great greens and fairways. Bunkers were not well raked. Several had very little sand causing skilled shots. Guess I should’ve avoided them in the first place.

One of the better layouts in Maui. Tough as nails in the wind.

Course is in amazing condition, long and challenging.

Unfortunately there is no beverage cart and you are stuck without any water until hole 11 (water station)

Sand traps are in poor condition, rest of the course especially the greens are great(greens are very slow and need to be mowed)

The holes on this course vary greatly….some flat, some extremely hilly with blind shots…fair but challenging!!

No facilities on course, when making the turn you are not near the clubhouse. Friendly staff and Marshall but not worth spending a day out there. Pay for the nicer courses in Maui if you are looking to play golf.

The course was in great shape, both fairways and greens. Fortunately, I avoided the bunkers so I can't comment on them.

I would have given the course a five-star overall rating if not for the staff. They lacked customer service.
