Designed by Robin Nelson, The Dunes at Maui Lani is immaculately maintained and brilliantly laid out. It is a tribute to the great links courses of Ireland that more than one golf writer has described as a "British Open course on Maui." Stunning dunes dot the terrain at every corner, challenging the golfer at every hole.
In addition to 18 holes of championship golf, The Dunes offers the only lighted practice range in central Maui, with grass tees, fairway and green-side bunkers and a pitching and putting green, plus an air-conditioned pavilion. Also, when not on the golf course, golfers can enjoy a four-star meal at Cafe O'Lei at The Dunes.

Good challenging course
The course layout includes a lot of hills, swales and to the uninitiated a lot of hidden drop offs. The greens were challenging but fair. It is definitely worth playing and was good value for the price. I'll play there again. Oddly, there are no ball washers on the course.
Winds, Winds, Winds
It’s always super windy, this day was more windy. I’ve only played it in the afternoons so I don’t know how the mornings are. They swirl and gust every which way on holes #3 thru #16, the other holes it’s a sustained wind
The Dunes is Tired
The Dines used to be our #1 corse to play on Naui, as it had a great restaurant for lunch and was fun to play. The pandemic apparently killed the restaurant. The tees are worn out and rough. Holes 10 & 11 are a bit of a joke but nothing anyone can do about that. The gasoline powered carts are stink, noise, and you have to floor it to get it going. Go electric please. Sorry to see this course slide down in our estimation.

Good course fair pricing for Maui easy to get tee time
Breezy
Fun play and a good test for this mid handicapper. Winds do influence the play so be prepared for that. No bev cart so come prepared.
Nice everything.
First time here, we were worried it would be too flat but not the case lots of insulations and Hills made it really interesting. Turf excellent, challenging even from the forward tees, will return.

I’ve played multiple courses on Maui over the years on past trips. This is one to not miss! Great price for a very fun layout and well kept!

Fun but challenging
It is a fun but challenging layout. It was a bit windy on a few holes. The course is well maintained. We look forward to our next round at the Dunes.
