About
Marshall Canyon Golf Course is nestled within the scenic foothills that overlook La Verne. The course is seemingly short at 6,110 yards from the back tees but it's not to be underestimated. The hilly terrain provides more than enough uneven lies and blind shots. The fast greens are also some of the toughest in the area but they are nicely balanced by wide, player-friendly fairways. The hard-to-read greens have subtle but tricky breaks that get easier once you've played the golf course before but even then, they still present some challenges. Marshall Canyon is a local favorite not only for the challenging round but also because it's a good value with great scenery. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and will often catch a glimpse of the many deer that roam the course.

First Time, Last Time
The greens are only thing decent, super super slow. Don’t expect a 4 hour round. Be ready for 5-6 hour round. Every hits it into the woods and is on a search and rescue mission for their Top Flite ball. It’s worth $30 max imo. Carts are older and suspension is blown.

Marshall Canyon is an excellent course in excellent shape. The staff is helpful too!
Course in great shape
With all the rain this fall, the course is very lush right now. We had not been here since they remodeled the bathrooms, club house and cafe and they are simple by clean and nice. It is still a favorite course to play.
Fun course, love the deer!
Super fun but challenging course. Greens are tough to read which made it challenging. Beautiful course and friendly staff.. definitely going back, had a great time!!!
Good value
Beautiful surroundings, and a challenging but fair layout The greens are in good shape, but they are all sloped and tricky. Fairways are fairly wide open, with some areas under repair. Multiple deer just hang out on the course and are totally unfazed by the golfers.
You’re gonna wait on EVERY hole
Terrible pace of play just as others have mentioned. 5 and a half hr round on Sunday. Just don’t do it. Will never play here again.
6 Hour Round
Why do they continue to make T times less than 10 mins apart? T time was at 2:30, got there at 210 to check in. NO Carts available. T'd off 30 mins after my T time. 2 HOURS thru 6 holes, I kid you not. Great course but the mgmt is terrible. We were the last group able to finish 18 with the last rays of sun.
This course has made improvements
I’ve been playing here for years, and the entire course has never looked better.
Marshall used to be not horrible but there used to be better courses in the area. Now because of how much better the pace of play is kept, the greens, and fairways it is honestly so much nicer and I’d prefer to play here then anywhere else. I do wish there was longer par 5s but that’s because I’m a particularly long hitter.

Horrible course management- 5 1/2 hours to play 18- terrible
Guys in front if us should have never been out there. Guys trying to give guys golf lessons. No one pushing them along the whole day.

5-somes on Saturday? Come on…
Writing this review from the 4th tee. It’s been an hour since we teed off and there are multiple 5-somes just absolutely crushing the pace of play. Course is in decent shape for a muni just can’t be letting 5-somes out.
