Terrible experience
Booked to play here on 1st April. After 2 holes I caught up with a 5 (five ball) with 2 golf carts sharing golf clubs. Refused to let me play through. I can only describe the length of time to play 5 holes as 1 hour 50mins before I walked off after 7 holes. The course itself is in great condition and greens were in excellent condition (the ones I played).
The course
Would be nice to Tee numbers as this was our first time we were not sure what number Tee we were on
Thoroughly recommend
What a wonderful place to play golf. Staff were fantastic, folks on the course really friendly (even the dog walkers), course in great condition and it was a lovely autumnal afternoon. Can’t wait to play in the summer and play of the white or yellow tees. Really enjoyed the experience and thoroughly recommend. Thank you
Hidden Gem
This was the first time I had played Piperdam, it had been pouring with rain the day before but you would never guess that with the condition of the course, the fairways were firm and the greens were solid and running well, a few patches on them but for October they were great, no winter greens here like my home course, we only paid £25 which is a bargain, we had a great day and I would recommend Piperdam to anyone, thanks
Dougie
Lovely Course
Was a fantastic day only let down by being held up by two women ahead of us playing slow and chatting on the green at the end of nearly every hole
Nice course - choose the right time of play
We played the course on a sunday, which is probably a very busy day. Should play a four-ball, but the locals didn't want to play with us, so we walked out as a 2-ball behinde a group of two 4-balls. We started very slow but the two flights ahead of us, let us play through. After that the 4-ball ahead of us, locals, didn't let us play through, but as we reached the 9 (PAR 3), we asked if we could skip the hole to pass, which was ok for them. So that was the not so nice part. The course itself is nice to play, good condition, tricky greens, not as slow, as they look like, so 3-puts can happen easy! We can recomden the course, but maybe be sure, what time to play and with who ;-)
new layout
This is the 4th time I’ve played here, but the first with the new layout and it’s much improved. The course gives you a chance to score as it’s pretty open which is nice, especially for those new to the game. The starter was really nice and gave me directions from the first tee. The course was in great condition and the fairways were fantastic as were the greens. It’s a small issue for me but the course does suffer from some very poor tee boxes. I can’t remember them being this bad, so it might be due to weather conditions. I really enjoyed my day out and would certainly return and recommend this course to anyone especially at the golfnow price.
Excellent Value
Some tee areas were quite boggy and the greens could be a little patchy in areas, but fairways were excellent. Biggest issue was the pace of play in front of us, but other than that I would highly recommend
Piperdam
The course was a lovely layout, but unfortunately the greens and tees were not great,if more resources were provided for these areas it would be a hidden gem,
Unfortunate to be held up
Not the first time playing here and will definitely be going back. Unfortunately the groups ahead of us were slow players and unwilling to let people play through. By the end of the 15th there were 4 groups behind us waiting to tee off. Not really a fault of the course but perhaps they should be asking these people aware before they start.
