Riverside Golf Course
About
Riverside Golf Course is located on the northwest side of Janesville near the Rock River. Opened in 1924, it is one of the oldest courses in the area and over the years it has earned the reputation of being one of southern Wisconsin's best public courses. The course has also been recognized as one of the 50 best public golf values in the country. The gently rolling hills of the landscape provide the course with rolling, tree-lined fairways and large, undulating greens, which are framed by strategically placed bunkers. Riverside is a challenging course but not so difficult that beginners should be intimidated. The classic layout is quite forgiving and versatile enough for a range of skill levels, one reason why it is the host to the Ray Fischer Tournament, one of the Midwest's most prestigious amateur events.

Nice Course
Course was in good shape. Rewards you for staying the fairway, lots of mature trees lining the course. Greens were true, beautiful course and reasonable price.
Excellent course conditions; a 3-day invitational tourney is coming up this week-end so everything was in pristine condition. Great topography which adds interest to the design of the 9 holes we played
Excellent Experience
I hadn’t played here in a couple of years and the improvements were very noticeable. The course was in great shape and the staff was very friendly. I look forward to returning soon.
Always fun!
It's always a pleasure to play this course. Grew up in the area and played it often. Moved away 30 years ago and I play it every time I come back. Despite torrential rain for about a week, the course was in very good condition. Greens rolled nice, although a bit slow probably due to not being able to cut them due to rain. It was quite slow however. Yes I played at 1:00 on a Friday, but it shouldn't have taken almost 5 hours to play.
good then bad
This Course is a great challenge - especially the back nine and notably the 10th and 17th. Riverside is very nicely maintained. Unfortunately.. my outing was foiled by rain on the 12th hole , and staff were not able to give a rain check,, they told me to call golf now !
Great Outing
Love this course and enjoyed the outing with some of my best mates!!!
great day of golf
Play this course a couple of times a year. Have never been disappointed. Did not walk, but is a good course for walking.
Wisconsin's Best Kept Secret
This course was one of the more beautiful courses I've been on in the area. Majestic tree lines boarder each challenging and fun hole. Totally recommend.
Great course
Course, as usual, was in terrific condition. On the short side, length wise but doglegs make up for that. Every time I'm in the area I play here and will continue to.
No beverages on course.
I found it weird that no cart drinks on the course. Doing 18 holes with a beverage cart during the holiday weekend was not a great showing for customers. That was the only thing I'd change. Also the Bloody Mary was bad not drinkable.
Great Municipal Course, Superb Staff!!!
We golfed behind an outing which was incredibly slow. Thought it was odd that they'd have a big outing at a municipal course on a weekend. No carts available when we checked in. Driving range is tiny and only irons. Course in excellent shape with quality greens. Some sand traps need more sand and were inconsistent.
Riverside Golf
As always, the course is beautifully maintained and surprisingly dry considering the amount of rain here lately. They obviously spent a lot of time on good drainage.
Challenging course but not gimmicky.
It is always nice to play Riverside. The staff is very friendly and pace of play is typicallying very good. Course is a fun challenge on a mature course without being gimmicky.
Give this course a try!
Great day to golf
We had a great time at Riverside, but my only complain is they had a 4some ahead of us walking.... pace of play was just too slow.
