No bad

Good course for municipal. Greens are a tad slow. Ball rolls for miles on fairway.

Too many people not paying and jumping on course for free.

Good value for money

Had saw a number of reviews about the course being in poor condition & couldn’t agree less. The fairways & greens were in excellent shape considering it hadn’t rained in about a month.

I played on a BH Monday & the course was almost empty.

Really good layout as well for a muni. Some tight / tough holes but nothing ridiculous.

Will play again.

It's ok but paying for it you'll be annoyed

Soon as you get to the 3rd hole it's a free for all. People with no tops on, bags on greens and the worst part you then turn a corner and there's a new 4 ball who appear from no where. You'll randomly find groups playing the course in whatever order they want.

Not having a shop to buy water or anything so make sure bring plenty because a 4 hour round will take much longer.

I actually feel cheated I had to pay on after seeing so many people who just walk on at random holes

not very good

There was a lot of litter on and around the Tee boxes, other golfers aren't very friendly.

Slow play

Typical council course took 5 hours to play a round no course etiquette 2/3 groups meeting up at tee off boxes, guys out playing a scramble n not one of them can hit the ball further than 50 yards just slowing up the whole course never got let to play through this was backed up right from the first whole because of one 4 ball

Great value.

For £15 it’s an easy win. Couple of the tee boxes weren’t in great shape but can’t complain for the price.

Poor course, not worth it

Greens and tee boxes completely flooded on some holes, deep puddles consistently across the fairways, terrible pace of play and ettiquete for playing through. Not worth it

What you expect from a council run course

I played here on Tuesday, I’d Booked it online so Turned up and tried to find the pro shop. It hasn’t got one. The clubhouse isn’t in use anymore which is a shame. It’s just got an office with a couple of staff who have me a card.

The actual course is in good condition. There’s some great sloping greens here which prove tricky. They’ve been sliced recently so some of them were still repairing after that. But they rolled ok.

Unfortunately because it’s a council course, they let anyone on. There was a 4 ball in front of me made up of young teenagers, sharing a bag, wouldn’t let me play through. In the end I hopped on to the next fairway to get through them. Caught up to an older bloke who asked me to join him which was good, had a nice 11 holes with him. We saw a couple of other lads with tops off playing which isn’t a good look.

For the money, you can’t argue, it’s a perfect course to just get out and play golf.

Fence it off!!!

Good course however APPAULLED by other players behaviour. Twice other players just walked onto the tee in front of me out of nowhere and cut in!! All men...I was a female on my own and did not feel safe enough to confront them. So I had to just wait until they had played and followed behind. Result was that I cut short my round as I was furious. I will probably not be back!!

My Experience

- Not much signage and quite difficult to navigate

- Tee boxes not clear

- Greens quite diseased

- Drainage pretty good

- Some 6 / 7 / 8 Balls floating around so pace of play very slow at times

- Ok for £8.99
