Wonderful Course

What a wonderful course. Yes, the uphill and downhill holes are a bit quirky, but they’re fun and fair. The whole course is brilliantly laid out and you have many unforgettable views. Not long, but most of the short holes are well-defended and the course is narrow in spots with some of the thickest rough anywhere. One of the most enjoyable rounds I’ve had in all of Scotland.

Walked

A bit of a hike to walk, but completely worth it

With a beautiful day forecast, we looked around and booked here. At the ProShop we were greeted by a very friendly staff member and a member, who were both happy to share the course with us. We took a couple of trolleys (pull carts) for our round and were glad we did! We were warned that the first three holes were all uphill, and the warning was warranted. By the end of hole three, however, you could start seeing some of the great views but more great views and holes were to follow. Even though we were basically at the top of the hill, there was still quite a bit of up and down. On the nice day we had, you could see in all directions. Stunning. The holes were all unique - there were no two holes that seemed alike. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens were all in very good shape, though the greens were a bit slow. There were a few holes that some local knowledge would have helped, but if you have a good GPS or a good golf app, you should be able to avoid the major problems. Regardless, balls hit too long, too right or too left will probably be lost in the deep, thick rough. The last hole was a bit of downhill reward that you can look forward to walking. Overall, it was a great golf challenge on a very nice course with some great views at a very reasonable price. It's hard to ask for more!

Great wee golf course, great condition for May

Great price , great staff, did nt eat there but only because was pushed for time.

Great views, great par 3s

Only downside would be for the less able bodies

Steep start for first few holes but worth the walk to the top

Over great day out ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First time

After the weather we have had, thought the course was great. To early in the season to judge greens however ,good for this time of year and some very interesting pins positions in a good way. Tee boxes in particular were immaculately done already. Fairways have done very well with the rain. Will absolutely play again. First few holes are steep just for info and then most of round levels out, some incredible views.

Nice course

I had read the first holes were up-hill. They are but so are many others. Suggest you bring an electric trolley as I did or hire a buggy. This is an interesting test of golf, with quite a few blind shots from tees, but there are good poles to help. Watch out for the burns in front of a number of greens, not necessarily obvious from back down the fairway. Good signage to next tee. A course to be enjoyed by golfers of all handicaps. Not a very long course, although the par 5s played very long the day I was there, but there are par3s to compensate. Greens had been tined and sanded but that happens this time of year. Tees a little bare, but not enough to be a major issue. The price was superb. Good pace of play. I was let through by visiting parties, though the last few holes were a little slower. The last hole in particular makes you feel great with a good drive back downhill towards the clubhouse, but note the fairway flattens just before the green, so take enough club for second shots to make it on to the green. I played on a nice sunny, not very windy day. I think it could be a different experience if conditions were less agreeable pleasant. Hope to come back again soon.

Excellent value for money

First three holes are really testing and would recommend ordering a buggy in advance for elderly players but one your up at the forth that's it over. I'm 61 and had my hand trolley not electric and I was fine. The course is in immaculate condition and lovely greens, but the best bit is the astonishing views on the course not to be missed. I would certainly recommend the course and look forward to playing it again
