Hazlehead Golf Course's No. 1 course (also known as Hazlehead Golf Course - Mackenzie Course) is the centerpiece of the complex that consists of two 18-hole championship courses as well as a nine-hole course. Designed by legendary golf course architect Alister MacKenzie, the No. 1 course has earned raves and compliments, with golfers praising it as one of top courses in all of Scotland.

MacKenzie - who counted Augusta National among his many brilliant golf designs - provided a true test of golf for Hazlehead golfers. Gorse and woodland provide hazards, making accuracy a premium at the No. 1 course. Playing to more than 6,200 yards from the back tees with a par of 70, the No. 1 course holds multiple competitions throughout the year, and visitors are welcomed to take their swings on a course renowned the nation over.

One of the top municipal courses you'll find, Hazlehead's No. 1 course gives players tree-lined fairways, with the first and last holes standing out and testing golfers' accuracy and skill.

Fantastic course layout and great value for money

Course layout was great, well above expectations. I had a really enjoyable, fast round - 2 hour 45 minutes. Greens looked very lush but were a bit slow for my liking - long putts I felt I had to rattle it.

Had a great experience and would highly recommend for only £20 hot time.

Only faults:

The starter was not very welcoming, I wasn’t told where the first tee was or given a scorecard - I had to ask for both.

Winter greens on the last day of June? - I was shocked to play up the 8th and 16th to find a winter green I hadn’t been warned about. This ultimately added 2 strokes to my score which frustrated me for playing golf at this time of year.

Challenging course

Great course apart from 2 winter greens on 8 & 16.cant really be helped after bad snow over the winter period. Play here often. No toilet facilities even tho government restrictions allow it. Aberdeen Council trying yo save money as per usual.
