Poor bunker condition
Love the course, but they have really let the bunkers get bad. A lot of them are just hard dirt now. The price is a little high as well.
Can’t beat it
Second time playing here. Great course and definitely worth the commute. Remodeling the bar/restaurant but I do recall the first time the food was good and staff were friendly. Cart woman was on it also. Saw her 3 times. Anything more than twice is above average in my book.
Great Place in Palmdale
This course is well run and a challenging course. I have never had a problem with any staff, there’s never been any mixups, and the food is pretty darn good as well.
Great conditions and value, slow play.
I think the title says it all - Rancho has significantly raised their course conditions and the layout is challenging but fair. This is a good value for money course too. It would get five stars however the practice facilities are mediocre and the pace of play ranges from 4:30-6hrs... so from slow to abysmally slow. Still worth playing, so plan for a long round and enjoy the moutain views!
Slow play
We where a 3 some playing behind a foursome and we waited on every shot the 16 holes I played.Left after 6 hrs only played 15 holes terrible and know one gave a crap
Always an enjoyable round!
Rancho Vista is a gem in terms of layout and course condition. It’s always great to not have to deal with Los Angeles traffic. One of those courses you’ll never tire of playing.
Best winter conditions you’ll find
I’ve been playing at Rancho Vista since day one in the year 2000. It has always been a fun course to play and a good test of skill. The course went thru a management change in the last year or so, and the new company has really done a great job maintaining the course conditions throughout the year. This winter however, I have noticed the green and fairway conditions are superb for a desert course. Lush green color(no paint), not a lot of ball mark scars, and the fairways are the same.
Price on Fridays is a little steep for some, but for the conditions you get, it’s well worth the drive( I come up from Santa Clarita). Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed.
What a great golf course it was!
It's a bit far away from my home, but it's a great golf course whenever I have a chance.
