My new favorite
Loved everything about the place. The course was challenging but fair, and the staff/amenities were excellent. Stan the starter was was fantastic and I played 18 in <3.25hours. Can’t beat the place for the price. Will definitely be back.
Good value, beautiful property, friendly staff
Frank in the pro shop is knowledgeable and friendly. Stan the ranger is a great guy and helpful. The cart girl came around several times. The course was in good shape, the greens were a bit used but still in descent condition. The T boxes were pristine. The fairways were great and the rough was penalizing. Overall excellent experience due to the staff and beauty of the property. I will definitely continue to play here
Top 10 in Chicago land
The first 5 holes are truly some of the best holes in terms of views and challenges. Super fun course and if manage to shoot well after the first 5 holes you can go low. Drinks and food are really priced better than anything in IL. Add to your bucket list and worth the drive.
Nice course, but would not play it in the rain
The course was good and we liked the GPS on the carts; however, it was raining on our day of play and there were several holes restricted to cart path only. The cart GPS system will warn you and then turn the cart off if you go into restricted areas. I am okay with restricted areas, but some of the restricted areas are merged with the cart path, so you are following cart path only restriction and then your cart can't move. It happened multiple times during our round, which was frustrating enough due to the rain & wet conditions.
If I play the course again, it will be during better weather and hopefully less cart path only holes.
It’ll test you but great course to play
Went with 3 buddies and pace of play was great. Staff was very friendly and I’ll tell you that the 1st 4 holes are a little rough but it gets easier from there! Great course would absolutely play again
Greens??
I love this place and play it at least once a week but I have to say again and again, the greens stink! People do NOT fix their ball marks and the place doesn’t have staff fixing them either. They layout and staff are awesome but you need to address the green situation or in 2 years you will lose 65% of your normal players
Another great round at Lost Marsh
Greens were in great shape (usually a bit slow) and the course is in great shape (if you dont mind all the geese). Played in 3 hours and they were fairly busy. Love this place. Just get through first three holes and theres lots of good chances for birdies and lots of chances for trouble. Just how I like it.
Tough Track……!!!
A Very Difficult Track, Lost Marsh…In The Name Is the Clue. A Lot Of Water, Marsh And Wind. The Fairways Are Cut Narrow and Around The Lakes and Marsh. You Must Play Smart Off The Tee. What You Hit 180-200 Straight Is The Shot Off A Lot Of tees. Be Smart And Play The Appropriate Tees. There’s a Cotton factory Next Door So it Looked Like It Was Snowing On The Golf Course. Some Of The Greens Were Completely White From The Cotton Floating In The Air. It Would Blow Into Your Eyes. The First 4-5 Holes Are Brutal and The Greens Were In Excellent Shape. The Back Side Opens Up More Than The Front, Its A Very Challenging Golf Course.
Our Group Loves This Course
Lost Marsh is challenging with plenty of water to navigate with what I call target golf. On a clear day, it has great views of the Chicago skyline.
Although it is a 1-1/2 hour drive from our north-central Indiana home, it is worth the drive to play there several times each summer.
