I Recommend This Course
One & Done at this Private Course
First, MountainGate's location was unexpected. In the hills adjacent to the 405 freeway, this country club opens the doors to public play each Monday. The caveat? Cart path only. On a course that ranges up and down hills with most fairways falling away from the side where the cart path was located. This affected several people in our group. We were playing in a quasi-tournament yet members coming up behind wanted to play through our folks and driving in the fairway at that same time. Staff was great. Some holes offered great views. The wildlife piece was great. If you want to play a private course in the Santa Monica mountains and can't get on Riviera, Sherwood, or BelAir, then this course is for you. As for me, one time was plenty.
