Balboa at Sepulveda Golf Complex

The course was challenging enough and was well laid out. I will definitely be playing it again.

Every other green was either soft and mushy or firm and sticky. The top layer was jagged feeling and they had just painted them green the other day, I guess. Horriblly inconsistent.

Inconsistent is the main word here. The fairway are hit or miss again, they’ve hastily tried to water them and since they don’t really look after the place properly some of the sprinklers are damaged or something so some areas have turned into overwatered mud patches and is ruining the course.

Bunkers are starting to fail again, and what are they doing to the fairway bunkers at holes like 4, 8, 15 & 16???? Just going to let the grass grow in them and look after them, huh? Typical.

But that’s par for the course, as they say for the LA City Munis.

Very nice course. A little muddy in some areas. Getting around is a little confusing. Could use some better signage.

Greens were terrible. They were bushy. Not cut. Slow as heck.

Fairways were nice. Cut short and defined from the rough with actual edges. That’s about it.

Booked the wrong course and ended not playing. Apparently this happens a lot so I will definitely look at your online booking options. Not a very nice experience and a waste of money because I travelled far.

Course was in good shape. Fairways are a little dry and has some areas which play like dirt, but overall in good shape. The pace of play was amazing. We finished the full rou d in 3 hours 30 minutes.

Had to walk off after nine as it was taking too long being stuck behind the group of drunks who were slinging shots back and testing each other with cans every other hole, they were behind a hole and a half.

Two hours and 40 minutes on a Monday afternoon are you stuck behind a bunch of drunks who don’t care about anything. It’s not my idea of a quick round as it should’ve been, as it used to be on this course.

I played here for the first time in many years. The course condition was fair - the greens are in nice shape, the fairways weren't as good. The course layout is straight forward, with gentle doglegs on some par 4s, and a couple of long par 3s. The fairways are wide, making this a fun course for intermediate players. It's probably too long for beginners, and too wide to challenge low handicap players. Keep your expectations realistic for a high traffic mini, and you'll have a fun round.

Balboa/Encino golf courses are in transition for the good .. Balboa I liked cause it had some forgiveness (Bit wider fairways ..) Greens Were Nice and Quick Easy to Read .. the downside was Pace Of Play.. Which is always an issue with Public Courses..

The greens were in very good shape. The entire course was in the best shape I have seen. We were able to complete our round in 3:30 which is fast for us.

The value is terrific and we were able to book at the last minute.

When the greens are being aerated, there should be a discount. Because you're not getting full value for your dollar.

Pace of play was a little slow due to the slow group in front of us. Other than that, it was enjoyable although we got rained on for two holes.

Overall you get great value for your buck. You have to expect that a round can take some time, specially if you have a tee-time after 10. Otherwise a great muni course that has some wide fairways.

This course needs a marshal or Two to help pace of play on the course especially when you have people hitting three and four Tee shots from the blues that can’t hit past 100 yards! Is gas that high that you can’t afford to mow the course especially the by the trees?! Try mowing the rough grass. Help Pace of play big time.
