About
Prairie Landing Golf Club has received acclaim ever since first opening in 1995, including a four-and-a-half-star rating from Golf Digest. This West Chicago course will make you feel as though you've been transported to a seaside links course in Ireland. The prairie-style layout closely follows the tradition of classic links golf courses. Robert Trent Jones II designed the course, fully utilizing the rolling terrain. He incorporated large, undulating greens and rolling bent grass fairways. Vast swaths of native grasses stretch along the fairways and strategically placed bunkers frame the greens. There is also contoured mounding to contend with. The golf course finishes with a memorable par 5 that features fairway bunkers on the left followed by a carry over a lake to a well protected, high bowled green. Prairie Landing also boasts a practice facility that includes a driving range with target greens, four practice holes, and a nine-hole chipping and short-game area.

A golf course full of challenge.
Played this course for the first time, didn’t help that I was unfamiliar with the course layout. But it was fun playing this course specially this time of the year as you can take your time knowing that there’s no group waiting behind you every time you are preparing for your next shot. Looking forward to my next round specially now that I am familiar with the course layout.
My favorite course in Chicagoland
Excellent course, well manicured and maintained. Several maintenance staff out blowing leaves off course, taking care of course and raking bunkers. Course can be pricey but balance that with how much they maintain course and challenge of course and the value we get here is extremely high! Plus, they space out golfers much better. I always recommend this course to everyone I come across at other golf courses. It’s target golf, long carries, undulating, windy, trains breezing through (feels like you are golfing in England)...planes flying overhead. Just course is scenic and very cool unique!! I’ll be back again for sure. Staff are super nice and ranger was really nice to each group and made sure to tell each group to “play well.” Great encouragement and a genuine gentleman! Thanks Prairie Landing!
Must Play if in the Area
Awesome staff - we had an early tee time and the restaurant was closed. So the Pro actually went and made us coffee. In addition, I paid for three and the third did not make it - thy reimbursed our money without any thought.
The course itself is magnificent. It was extremely wet and we were still able to go anywhere with our carts. Holes are all different and has 4 tee boxes that you can choose. Played the whites and they were too short.
Again, a must play.
5 Hours - What a Shame
Was happy to have caught a Hot Deal. Pace of play was brutally slow on a hot day. Called the clubhouse on the 7th hole after waiting on every tee. They were responsive and sent out a marshal to deal with what turned out to be an off work employee and three other players who were slowing down the whole course. It improved for a few holes but then reverted back to the slow pace when the marshals lost interest. Slow play killed my experience at this otherwise excellent golf course.
Great target golf course.
Course was a fun course to play. You have to place the ball in the right spots to score well. Greens were fast and rolled true. Will definitely play it again. Staff was very friendly.
Tough but fair
Course was in pretty good shape. Interesting course and makes you think as opposed to just grip it and rip it. Course management important. More important choose the proper tee for your game. We played the blue tees (6100 yds) and although many holes play shorter at those tees you had to pick your lines carefully. Greens rolled out pretty good. I like this course cause it always make me think. Always enjoy playing this course.
Nice course
Course was in excellent shape for the majority of holes , however on the back side there were about 3 holes that had a lot of damage. Still nice course .
Liked the new carts , however GPS system must be to the center of the green instead of to the flag. The old carts I think had them to the flag.
Best Greens in the area!
Excellent course that is run very professionally with a great staff. Front nine is more open than the back, and has some excellent strategy holes. The Greens are absolutely fantastic and roll very smooth. Medium fast and definitely hold well. Pay attention to the pin placements as being on the wrong side will cost you a 3 putt. Course is very well kept from tee boxes to fairways to bunkers. Well done I will definitely be back!!!
