About
Shorecliffs Golf Course wanders through the coastal canyons and valleys of San Clemente, heading towards the beautiful shoreline. Situated just steps from the ocean, the course enjoys cool ocean breezes and a temperate climate, which makes it a year-round haven for golfers. Its location also provides the golf course with plenty of scenic ocean views. The course features narrow fairways tightly lined with trees and small greens bordered by sand bunkers. The front nine is shorter and requires more accuracy than the longer, wider back nine. Shorecliffs opens with one of the trickiest par-5s in the area. This dogleg left hole features trouble both left and right. Although the layout does offer a fair challenge, players of all skill levels will feel comfortable taking on the golf course.

Course is very much improvining step by step.
Over all, course is well managed and quiety. Employees are very friendly.
Course is a mess!
I never write reviews on places, but my golf outing was spoiled on Sunday because of the horrible current condition of this course. I had played it about 10 years ago and even though it was old then, it was kept in much better condition. Hole 5 &6 are being repaired so they loop you backwards after hole 4 (without good signage) and split up two nice fairway holes to make up for the two that are being repaired. Of course, they have no website that I could find and their FB page is down so there was no warning of the condition of the course. My advice is pay a bit more and find a better course in the area.
This course is definitely improving! Challenging layout, great value.
The greens are in great shape, as good as anything at Tijeras, Arroyo Trabuco, Talega or Marbella. The fairways are surprisingly decent and getting better as they've put in a new sprinkler system a while back. You need to bring your "A" game as the layout is challenging and sometimes narrow. Staff says they'll have their old par 5 hole back soon after repairs. The old comfortable clubhouse just got a thorough sprucing up, new carpet, paint, TV's and the food at the kitchen was really good and well priced. We had turkey melts with avocado and ortega chiles. This place is definitely on the upswing and getting better and you need to put this in your rotation. We'll play here again soon.

Challenging Par 3's
Par 3's on back nine are pro style holes and they come within one of each other. This course has a few holes under repair do to water and hillside so the yardage is less than card. This course and location is usually cooler and usually you do not have it warm or hot which I love. Be straight of does tees draw and pushes don't work on this course

Don’t bother
We played in a two ball behind a three ball. The three ball left the 8th green after having taken two hours fifteen minutes to play eight holes, complained to the starter who shrugged his shoulders. The course Marshall was no where to be seen. Golf course is in a dreadful condition, driving through a sewerage tunnel was a first for me playing golf. Do not play this course under any circumstances.

Great value
Course is tough. Narrow fairways and run offs. The staff was friendly and the food at the snack bar was surprisingly great. For the money it’s a great course.

Tee Box Signage/Direction of Holes/Yardage markers
I liked the course. The staff was friendly. The only problem we had was the lack of signage for Tee Boxes, Yardage Markers and at times, the holes themselves. We had to back track a couple of times. I would have liked GPS in the carts, to help with yardage.

staff is not friendly and somewhat very rude.
Since nobody was on the tee box for 20 minutes or so, and also starter or staff was no where near tee box or in the cashier's desk, and did not announce tee times(1st, 2nd up etc.) until our tee time, we parked the cart by the tee box hoping that the starter will announce our tee time.
Now suddenly, stater wanted us to stay back.
I was wondering, but I thought that some golfers whose tee time was earlier arrived late. That was fine. But the attitude of the starter was such that it made all of us
really angry.His attitude was really unfrienly and not professional.
He accused us we had tried to make rules by our selves and, yelled at us. If he wants to put other golfers (his friends) ahead of us, he shoud have advised us or announced the times.

Best bang for the buck
Tough course, but for the money best in OC if you break 90 here, it’s like breaking 80 somewhere else!!

Great value
The course is doing a lot of reconstruction on 3-4 holes. But other than playing these holes from different tee boxes, the course played very well for a public course...the greens were very consistent, the fairways Had plenty of grass, and for the little bit of $$$ we paid to play ($42 for two of us) we have absolutely nothing to say that is bad...the restaurant had a very large selection of sandwiches, all under $8...
