Shorecliffs Golf Club
About
Shorecliffs Golf Course wanders through the coastal canyons and valleys of San Clemente, heading towards the beautiful shoreline. Situated just steps from the ocean, the course enjoys cool ocean breezes and a temperate climate, which makes it a year-round haven for golfers. Its location also provides the golf course with plenty of scenic ocean views. The course features narrow fairways tightly lined with trees and small greens bordered by sand bunkers. The front nine is shorter and requires more accuracy than the longer, wider back nine. Shorecliffs opens with one of the trickiest par-5s in the area. This dogleg left hole features trouble both left and right. Although the layout does offer a fair challenge, players of all skill levels will feel comfortable taking on the golf course.

Best bang for your buck!!
Best greens in OC.....layout isn't the best but its a steal.....love playing here.
Horrible course layout
Been golfing here may times a few years back. Just went back this past weekend and this course is in despair. The range has mats that looked like it came from a dump. All mats have about 6" holes exactly where you would normally plant your feet; none of the mats have plastic tees for driving. The range balls look like all came from the 70s. There are some holes on the from the front 9 that you have to back track and risk getting hit by golfers teeing off. What was then the 9th hole is now broken into 7th and 8th hole. What was then the 10th hole is now the 9th and what was 11th hole is broken down into 10th and 11th! Confused yet?
Not Shore...Cliffs
They’re doing construction and it was almost as satisfying finding the next hole as it is making a good shot. They’ve separated some par fives into two holes and constructed new greens. Something I’ve never seen before, two tee boxes on one box with golfers teeing off almost back to back facing different directions and holes. Fairways are really tight, so you need to hit straight. There is no Shore, although there are lots of tunnels filled with poo water though that you get to drive through while trying to find tee boxes. The guy working the golf shop was friendly and the cost was low on the plus side. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone, but if you do play, make sure it’s under $20 hot deal or you’ll feel ripped off. Not bad if you live in the area and just want to work on some things, but I wouldn’t take a guest or group of friends.
Shorecliffs Goes Downhill
Rough was ankle deep and the course has deteriorated in the past year. I’m looking elsewhere.
Falling to the wayside
I learned to play on shorecliffs and always knew it was a little rag tag golf course but the Golf now allowed me to play fairly cheap.
I have always said it’s the best value in town which it is and the condition is suitable. I went back today after moving away 8 months ago to play a quick round and things have certainly changed.
The course conditions are a joke. It’s like playing in some unkept public park. The grass is mowed in certain areas and not others. The greens have holes and burn marks all over them. Not the kind you would expect but serious damage. I will leave it at course conditions are poor.
No marshal, took close to 3 hours on the front 9. This guy literally finished his hole and then went back out to the fairway and rechipped his ball and putted again. Groups of people just hacking down the fairway. It’s was not worth the $3.50 I paid for the round after using points. It was so bad the waste of time became more valuable than the great deal I had gotten on the round.
Chopped up.
They had some holes closed and reworked them into other holes. Very confusing for new players and you had to back track to get to other holes. No mention of it when booking with Golfnow or when we arrived.... Very disatified with the course.
Keep cool
Greens were great , quick, smooth and receptive fairways not so much. The course has a very old school type clubhouse but for the price and to keep cool during the summer it’s a good value!
Close to the Beach
This was the first time playing here. First thing to note that I think they should make much clearer is that they have 2 holes shut down for repairs and have broken up 2 other holes in to 4 holes so you can still have 18. This seems to be a long term repair as well so it should be noted much clearer. The course was in average condition and fun to play but it shows its age. Pretty straight forward with a few fun holes with interesting looks and/or shots. It is now very short over all. Good value for the price but I was driving over an hour to get onsite and this was a draw back for me. If they had all 18 holes in play at this price I would have been much happier making the drive. I am sure the locals love this place.
good value but missing holes need to come back
i've played this course a couple times and enjoy it because it's stress free... i wish they could get the 2 missing holes back in action... it's really messed up what was a glorious 9th hole...
