Belmont Lake Golf Club

The greens are very firm, expect very few ball marks and the ball to run out quite a bit. They are still true, and the fairway is in great shape. A bit pricey but best course (on Golfnow) in a 45 miles radius.

Many holes are protected by difficult bunkers, then you run into about 3 par 4’s that dare you to attempt to drive them. If you struggle with a slice, bring many balls. The greens seemed slow and probably needed watering to recover more quickly from the aeration that I understand occurred late April or early May. I would not recommend walking the course as there are some lengthy gaps between a few holes. Overall, great balance of good conditions, difficulty level and value.

Played twice now during the growing season so not prime condition but you can see greens are excellent Potential and tees decent condition. Would imagine fairways have more growth but for now a little sparse. back 9 much stronger than front with need to shape shots both ways. Not long but Really decent challenge with greens being the best defense.

Hadn't been to Belmont in 3 years. Bermuda greens are excellent.....not too fast/rolling true. The fairways are starting to fill in.....the best condition I've played since Dec. Course layout is fun and fair.....good mix of doglegs and scenic par 3's. A bit of a drive from N. Raleigh but worth every minute of it!

Have played this course numerous times on my way to Myrtle Beach and everytime, it's been an enjoyable experience from the beginning to end. It's a very forgiving course, wide fairways, large greens. The greens are true and fast. Fairways and tee boxes are well maintained.

They have a driving range and putting green if you need to warm up before your round.

We got there much earlier than our tee time, and the starter was able to fit us in with another twosome, and we were able to save ourselves extra time for our travels afterwards.

I totally recommend this course.

I use golf now reviews to look for really nice golf courses. Belmont has a 4+ rating. My fee was $50 and this was not a $50 golf course. Positives:Pace of play was great and the greens were in decent shape.(no bare spots) Layout is wide and everything is in front of you. Did enjoy the young growth pine trees on a few holes. Negatives:Bunkers were inconsistent, Bermuda fairways had weeds in them, course went out and did not come home until 18, saw beverage girl once on hole 13, bathrooms on course where awful, cart was gas powered and struggled to start every time and some cups were cut wonke with slices on grass on the edge. Would pay $30 for this course.

Excellent track. Most holes with a turn are set up for a right-handed draw. Fluffy fairways and good, consistent green speed. Rough was also generous.

Booked at a I-95 highway rest area as I got tired of driving, did not expect anything and just visit the course. 1st hole was just average, but move on to other holes, amazed by the layout and well maintained course condition. Wow! I suddenly feel like visiting this course again. Definitely, would recommend to anybody.

Pace if play - 2 hours 40 minutes for the back nine

We have played this course several times and really like it. We booked a hot deal through GolfNow a few days ahead, but on the day of our reserved tee time the course was unbelievably wet, almost to the point of being unplayable. It was pouring rain off and on for our entire round. We requested a rain check, but the management said that it wasn’t possible because we booked on line. We won’t make this mistake again. We were one of only 2 twosomes playing because it was so miserable out. Only got 16 holes in before we had to quit.

Beautiful facility, great layout that is very well maintained. Still a bit dormant on the fairways but not far from waking up for the season

Been playing Belmont as my home course since moving back to the area last year

The staff is great and always works me in as I'm typically a single not knowing a lot of golfers in the area

Course is well maintained even though we had a difficult winter

Restaurant is great for lunch or dinner after your round

Definitely a must play if you're in the area

Course is challenging but fair, 3 of the par 3's are long for the more average weekend golfer as they require a long iron or wood

All in all a great challenge with a great staff

This was the 2nd time playing here and it again was great! Course is still wet in areas and soft around the greens but no fault to them. We’ve had a lot of rain. Greens are fast and in excellent shape. Staff is so nice and friendly. Being from VA, they treat me like a member. The 1.5 hour drive for me is worth it. Thanks again for a great time and look forward to the next.
