South/East at Spanish Wells Country Club
About
Located in the heart of southwest Florida, Spanish Well Golf & Country Club in Bonita Springs offers 27 holes of championship golf amidst towering stands of palms and pines. The holes are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The South/East Course combines the longest of the three nines. Water characterizes the golf course, coming into play on nearly every hole. There are also strategically placed bunkers and a few tricky doglegs to watch out for. The layout presents a challenging, but fair test. The golf course finishes with one of the club's prettiest holes, a par 4 with mature trees that run along the entire right side of the fairway until they reach the lateral water hazard. Past the bunkered green, the clubhouse and the colorful surrounding flowerbeds serve as the backdrop.

Golfer Reviews
All a round course
Course in great shape fast greens but lay out fairly flat straight forward not a real challenge
Poor
They have 3 nines. North is terrible. Poor shape; poor layout
South is better. Pace horribly slow. Starter told us to pick up the pace when we were waiting on every shot!
Never again
Good as usual
Spanish wells is always a good outing they keep the course in nice shape and even when busy pace of play is good. We live in the area and enjoy playing here more often than others in the area .
Staff area always friendly and don’t treat you differently even though you don’t live in the community.
Thank you for being a nice place to play!
The golf course still hasn’t improved
We play this golf course once a year, in hopes that it improves. Still hasn’t. The weeds and the very dried up course made it difficult to find a spot to tee up. It’s so dry that you must club down because your ball runs through the hard-pan fairways into the bunkers. They have a few holes that are just so silly to play. The Marshall came around to ask us to speed up play. That was a laugh!! The entire day, we waiting for two foursomes in front of us. The round took 4:45 minutes. We won’t give this course a fourth try.
Beware
After traveling to Naples for the past six years, we decided to give Spanish Wells a play this time around. Given that it is the tail end of in-season golf down in Florida, our experience each year is that courses are in very good shape but are showing signs of wear. However, their course is in absolutely unacceptable condition and to boot, staff was dismissive of any non member, members themselves showed no courtesy or respect to those visiting the course, and the pace of play was abysmal.
There the bag drop is completely self-service, no assistance taking bags or loading to carts. The pro-shop doesn’t accept cash, and the members themselves look down their noses at guest players (pushing their way through and cutting the line for water machine). While these might sound like petty complaints, our experience at every course down here in Naples has been the exact opposite, which is what makes this stand out.
As far as the course goes, let the pictures speak for themselves. For nearly $100/round, the conditions and maintenance were a joke. Furthermore, the pace of play was excruciating. We were able to complete 16 holes in 4:45, ultimately having to pick up and leave at 17. The bizarre piece of this is that there were specifically asked to stay on pace at tee off, but with a half dozen marshals on the course, absolutely no one was helping to keep the round moving.
This course should be avoided at all costs.
What a waste
What a waste of time and money. Tee boxes and fairways covered in weeds and not mowed. The final
Nine holes took almost 3 hours to complete. Staff made you feel like you were intruding on their time. Was looking forward to playing here, and was a huge let down. I would sooner play miniature golf than waste one stroke on this course.
I would like to play golf more often at the Spanish Wells golf course
The pro shop staffs were friendly and courteous with smiles.
It made me feel that i was at our home course.
A pair(members) we were assigned to play together were very nice showing us where to hit and even searched for our lost balls. I hoped that we could play everyday for next 12 days until we head back home
Fairways
The fairway were not the best condition. The course is
Narrow and tight.
