South/North at Spanish Wells Country Club
About
The 27 holes at Spanish Wells Golf & Country Club sprawl through a landscape of swaying palms, towering pines, and mature live oaks. Located in Bonita Springs, the club offers some of the most scenic holes in southwest Florida. The numerous water features are difficult to ignore, coming into play on almost every one of the club's holes. The holes are played in three 18-hole combinations. The South/North golf course is a challenging but fair layout that features strategically placed bunkers and several doglegs. The club's signature hole is the North nine's second. This scenic par 3 plays to a well protected green that features a bunker on the right, and out-of-bounds to the left. In addition to the three golf courses there is a practice facility with a driving range, pitching and chipping areas, and two large putting greens.

Golf course or backyard? Photo submitted by Jimmy3044469 on 06/14/2018
Nice course
The course was in good shape. We had the pleasure of golfing with two ladies from Canada and the day was pleasurable. It was a good decision to play here.
Very Nice Staff…Very Slow Play
First and foremost, I cannot overstate the friendly and accommodating nature of staff member we interacted with.
There are three 9’s. All are pretty short. (I’m not a big hitter, but I think the tips maxed out at about 63-6400 yards…seemed to play shorter). Greens played much better and quicker than they looked. Best part of the course. We played the North and 10th hole of the South course. Many homes and condos close in on the North course. Had to hit irons off a number of holes on the North course either because the hole was short or dogleg with houses too close and you would have to hit over them. (They even had signs telling you not to.) In any case, after we played the first hole on the South course (our 10th hole) we were on track for a 5-1/2 hour round. I called the pro shop and advised that had to wait on every hole in the front 9 and that there were three groups on #11. I asked if they would consider refund for the back 9. I explained that we were heading back to “tundra country” the following day and couldn’t use a rain check. Phyllis couldn’t have been more pleasant and honored my request.
Looking back, there is a fair amount of trouble given water, and/or OB on many holes. My guess is that there was much time spent looking for golf balls by groups ahead of us.
Fun day
Couldn’t ask for better weather. Paid 80 each player online and was told it was bumped up to 110. I don’t believe it’s worth 110 to play but it was a fun course. Greens were quick but a little chewed up. Overall, it was a nice day to play golf.
Fort Myers Golf
One of our worst golf experiences in the area. The starter said that it was a very difficult course and we should play forward tees and it was very short. I respect that they had a tornado that ripped through the area a few weeks prior but the golf carts were very dirty and condition of tees were not manicured. fairways were average and greens were just ok.
Nice Course
Course is shortish and North Course, as the staff will tell you is tight, as in squeezed in during last phase of development. South course much better design and lay out. Did not play 3rd nine. overall a middle of the list course.
Enjoyable but not premium course. Great for the money. Play is mixed with members who bought the course out of bankruptcy a few years ago and have renovated all 27 holes. Nice folks. Conditions are very good. Happy I played there but would look at other venues next time just to see what’s out there.
Good golf
All good, though, Marshalls could have hustled groups more
