About
Callahan Golf Links in Waleska possesses a rich history of more than 150 years of farming and family ownership. Before being converted into a golf course, the site functioned as a farm from the Civil War until World War II. When creating the course, the natural beauty of the landscape was carefully preserved. As its name would suggest, the layout is a true links design with carefully placed pot bunkers and thick cuts of rough. Water is barely present but there are plenty of other challenges throughout that will quickly make you forget that fact. It is gentle enough for beginners but the back tees will challenge more experienced players. Golfers can also work on their short game on the chipping and putting greens or warm up on the driving range. The affordable rates make Callahan Golf Links an excellent value.

Greens were terrible this day
Play here usually every couple of weeks. Great budget friendly course, although the only problem I have is with the greens. Greens are usually OK but this day they were terrible. Green speeds were very inconsistent and had a lot of bare dirt spots. Other than that the course is good. Greens just need a little work.
Disappointed in course condition
Lost a lot of balls not only in hazards but even low grass adjacent to fairways. Balls drop down into grass and can not be seen. Greens are in need of repair. Lot of holes making putts difficult. Seemed like hazards were overgrown more than previous games. Would like to see areas along and across fairways cleared so we can have a better chance of finding balls and not having to worry about snakes or take more time finding balls. That would also speed up pace of play.
Solid challenging course
Always a good time here, it's not a country club but that's what makes it nice.. Great staff
Grounds and equipment need fixing
First off... Divots everywhere and no sand to fill them. Every fairway was riddled with them. Tee boxes looked like someone tried digging fence holes blindfolded and a couple looked like they sprayed Roundup while jumping on a Pogo stick. More than a couple greens were in such bad condition that they started forming their own small bunkers. And don't even get me started on the amount of unrolled greens with pitch marks all over them. Now, onto the condition of their carts. More than one group was playing with a flat tire. They sounded like an APC running through the course. Seats had small rips as well.
Great value, need Maarshalls
I really do enjoy playing golf at Callahan. It’s a great layout and for about the fourth time in a row we finished the front nine in less than two hours. The problem was on the back nine it took nearly 3 hours to finish. They don’t have anybody policing extended play so it appears that some guys finish 18 and don’t see anybody looking so they decide to play the back nine again. They were groups that we didn’t see on the front nine. All they need to do is pay a really good marshal to police the turn And occasionally speed up a slow group. For instance, we were one of four groups that were stacked up waiting to play the 17th hole and the 18th hole again. It took 40 minutes to play the last two holes they can easily fix this problem and that really is their only problem.
Love this course!
Can't recommend this place enough. Absolutely beautiful property to play.
