Callahan Golf Links
About
Callahan Golf Links in Waleska possesses a rich history of more than 150 years of farming and family ownership. Before being converted into a golf course, the site functioned as a farm from the Civil War until World War II. When creating the course, the natural beauty of the landscape was carefully preserved. As its name would suggest, the layout is a true links design with carefully placed pot bunkers and thick cuts of rough. Water is barely present but there are plenty of other challenges throughout that will quickly make you forget that fact. It is gentle enough for beginners but the back tees will challenge more experienced players. Golfers can also work on their short game on the chipping and putting greens or warm up on the driving range. The affordable rates make Callahan Golf Links an excellent value.

Love this course!
Can't recommend this place enough. Absolutely beautiful property to play.
Slow Greens
Another good day at Callahan’s.The greens were a bit slow and bumpy and could definitely be cut and rolled.
A few of the greens are having some issues and really should be marked as ground under repair to give them a chance to recover. Some improvements to the tee boxes have been made but there is room for more especially #15.
Pace of play was good and we finished in under 3 hours 45 minutes. No cart person all day and it would be great if they placed water coolers around the course.
Not a big fan of the red and black checkered pin flags as you have no idea of where the hole is especially on uphill shots which there are quite a few.
Staff are friendly and the driving range was open
Still no water coolers on course
Course is in great condition. Would give 5 stars but course continues to not put back water coolers that were removed during Covid. With summer heat this is unacceptable. At least tell customers at check-in.
Best I have ever seen it
I was very pleased with the overall course at Callahan course. The fairways are the best I have ever seen them. A lot of the tee boxes have been freshly sodded. The majority of the greens were trimmed will and had a great roll to them. The only thing that I saw was the rough out of bound was thick and high and it made it hard to find a ball. It was the best play I have ever had on the course. I am planning on bringing my mates to play the course again in the near future.
Course is looking great!!!
Tee boxes, fairways and greens are all plush and in great shape! Got a hot deal for a steak. Most value in town.
Callaghan’s golf on a hot day
Course conditions were very good from tee to green . Had a quick round as pace of play was outstanding. Course layout is both fair and challenging. It was a hot day thus the beverage chart was a welcomed relief.
Had a good time
The course is in pretty good shape, with the exception of several tee-boxes. The crew seems to be working on the issue, though, as several were being protected.
I played as a single behind 3 fat guys who played the front tees, and never allowed me to play past them, hence the slow pace.
Need water coolers placed around the course
Hot day which is expected but no cart person or water coolers around the course was a bit disappointing
Course conditions are good with a lot of improvements being made especially on the tee boxes.Greens were a bit inconsistent but in pretty good shape
Pace of play was was good and the staff are friendly
Driving range was closed which was unusual but still a good day
Better than expected
We had not played at this course in a few years. The course was in great shape, better than we remembered. This course is unique in that the front part is flat and the back is hilly. We only got to play the first nine before it started to rain. We'll definitely be back.
Cart path only
Cart path only which was fine as the course was wet and also repairs are ongoing. It would be nice if they put some yardage markers on the cart path and also informed you of pin placement as the black and red checkered pin flags do nothing to let you know front middle or back locations
Ongoing repairs to some of the tee boxes which is definitely needed but overall the course is in good condition and the staff at friendly.
Pace of play was great as there wasn’t many people playing due to the weather as some good golf etiquette shown to let people play through
Would recommend this course to anyone
Sleeper
Once we started, which was delayed, the course unfolded in very pleasant ways. From the road, the course looks quite bland. However, the designers maximized the land, and half of the holes are not visible from the entrance. Pleased with the conditions, and you can tell the maintenance crew is working hard to keep them nice. Pace was slow, but seemed unavoidable as the course was congested with many players.
Fairways were plush. Greens held shots and look like they are fast but they are the slowest greens of any course around.
