About
Callahan Golf Links in Waleska possesses a rich history of more than 150 years of farming and family ownership. Before being converted into a golf course, the site functioned as a farm from the Civil War until World War II. When creating the course, the natural beauty of the landscape was carefully preserved. As its name would suggest, the layout is a true links design with carefully placed pot bunkers and thick cuts of rough. Water is barely present but there are plenty of other challenges throughout that will quickly make you forget that fact. It is gentle enough for beginners but the back tees will challenge more experienced players. Golfers can also work on their short game on the chipping and putting greens or warm up on the driving range. The affordable rates make Callahan Golf Links an excellent value.

Enjoyed the course
This was the first time I played the course. The fairways are wide and very few blind holes. If playing the white, blue or black there is a hole that your need good distance with your driver to get over the lake. I actually called a friend on the way home and let him know that we need to play the course together soon. Yep, I am coming back for another game soon.
Slow round
This course could be fun but the staff didn’t seem to mind the slow pace of play. We got behind a group of 6 who would let anyone play through. The Marshall drove by several times, never asked them to split up. It took just over 2 1/2 hours to play 9. There was no way to finish before dark so we left and want be back
Challenging Course in the wind
Keep the ball in the fairway or short rough. Otherwise, it's impossible to find it in the high long rough. Windy conditions made this a real challenge. Fairways and traps are fine. Greens have some dead spots but roll really well. If you play those spots as "ground under repair" and get relief, there are no problems. Downhill putts can be extremely fast while uphill putts can be very slow. Overall, it's worth the trip to play.
tee times
I had a tee time for 10:20 but there was a line of 10 carts waiting to tee off and when i went inside the pro shop there was 10 people in line so i left

Enjoyed the round. Nice bent grass greens. Fairways nice. Good layout. Staff did a hood job.ma
Interesting course
A solid course, but you get what you pay for. 40 dollar rounds. No sand to fill divots so people don’t fix ball marks on greens/ carpets your putting on. . First hole is interesting given the Giant power line runs through it.
Pace of play just like anywhere else depends on your group and group ahead of you. Lucky for me by may self groups I was behind let me play through so played course in just under 3 hours.
Also some tee boxes could use some love
Good value
This is a good course for the price.
Great views from several holes and is mostly an open course.
Greens are good on most holes.
Simple Local course
Consistent fun local course. Greens and course is always in good shape, Never had an issue here
