About
Callahan Golf Links in Waleska possesses a rich history of more than 150 years of farming and family ownership. Before being converted into a golf course, the site functioned as a farm from the Civil War until World War II. When creating the course, the natural beauty of the landscape was carefully preserved. As its name would suggest, the layout is a true links design with carefully placed pot bunkers and thick cuts of rough. Water is barely present but there are plenty of other challenges throughout that will quickly make you forget that fact. It is gentle enough for beginners but the back tees will challenge more experienced players. Golfers can also work on their short game on the chipping and putting greens or warm up on the driving range. The affordable rates make Callahan Golf Links an excellent value.

Great course at a great value.
Callahan is a great course. Right now they are struggling with the condition of the greens due to the heat, but they’re working on it. I highly recommend this course.
Green maintenance
Greens are just very bad in general. There’s weeds and craters everywhere. If those get fixed then the greens would be solid
Great Day on the Links
I had a great time on the course. Callahan’s is a challenging course that plays friendly for mid handicapped players when played from the white tees. The blue tees can be difficult, as it should be. The greens were a little slower than usual and had a few bumps, otherwise the course was in excellent condition.
Driving range closed with no notice
The course is a great value. We went on a Thursday and the driving course was closed for cutting and they were cutting grass all over the course. I realize that the maintenance has to be done but, a notice on the range being closed would have been nice as we had to use the first few holes to warm up.
The grounds people did not really have any consideration for the golfers playing. Several times the tractors were left in the middle of the course and other times they would just cut regardless of golfers playing a hole.
Beautiful course
The bentgrass greens were spotty and slow. Some were a bit washed out from rain runoff. Some tees were beat up and sparse. With that being said, the fairways were beautiful and the overall course conditions were good.
Great layout
Absolutely love the layout. Greens were a little beat up, but fairways were great. Great value.
Very Poor Greens
I love the layout of this course it’s absolutely beautiful. But the greens were in such poor condition there is no point of playing there. You cannot read any putt on any hole unfortunately. This course would be stunning if they just spent a little more on the greens to keep them healthy

Great layout and fairly challenging but needs a little love on the green’s.
They have redone several tee boxes so for the most part they are in nice shape.
Overall it’s a nice track…
Greens are Unplayable!
From the unfriendliness of the girl in the pro shop, to the lack of directional signs from green-to-tee, to not having a Junior rate, to the greens being unplayable…. It was rough!!
Disappointing Greens
Played the course a couple of weeks ago and everything was excellent. Now after challenging weather conditions the past weeks the greens have taken a beating. Overall, the greens held approach shots well, were medium speed, but bumpy with a lot of splotchy places (mixture of grass and no grass). Only putts that were struck very firmly held their lines.
