Callahan Golf Links in Waleska possesses a rich history of more than 150 years of farming and family ownership. Before being converted into a golf course, the site functioned as a farm from the Civil War until World War II. When creating the course, the natural beauty of the landscape was carefully preserved. As its name would suggest, the layout is a true links design with carefully placed pot bunkers and thick cuts of rough. Water is barely present but there are plenty of other challenges throughout that will quickly make you forget that fact. It is gentle enough for beginners but the back tees will challenge more experienced players. Golfers can also work on their short game on the chipping and putting greens or warm up on the driving range. The affordable rates make Callahan Golf Links an excellent value.

Course is in very good shape considering the dryness

Greens are medium fast and true. Fairways are filling in nicely. Greens hold short irons very well. Overall, well worth the trip. We'll be playing again soon.

Disappointing Course Conditions

I've been playing this course for many years now, and just when it seems I can count on things having improved on the course, it falls back. A number of tee boxes are in bad shape, greens are so-so, fairways ok. I could be all right with that if I wasn't paying $50+ to play. As much as I like the layout here, it's not worth the money in its present condition. Not sure if/when I'll be back here.

Good experience

Came to play on Mother’s Day, due to my mom passing last October and wanted to spend the day to myself, but ended up catching up with the group in front of me and and joined with them and the group behind me caught up with us so we all played together and had a great time!
