Manatee Golf Course

Not an expert by any means, but this was a good course to play. Not terribly challenging and the greens were in great shape - comparing them to the greens on the rural courses I usually play. Staff was very friendly except for the Cary guy. 0 personality there. I tried greeting him and saying thank you and got 0 response from him. Ms. Kitty in the Snack bar was a sweetheart. My son got a little too hot resulting in us cutting our round short. We went inside to give him time to cool off and she was very concerned - going out of her way to give him a cold towel. All in all I'd play again.

Greens are in good shape, but the fairways and tees need some help.

In fairness to the course, it has been a brutally dry winter with draught conditions, and they are working on addressing some issues. All the tee boxes are in poor condition and need to be resodded now. Most of the white tees were moved up from their typical locations. The greens were very slow but are in good condition. I hope they can fix the tee boxes and thin spots in the fairways quickly. This can be a fun course to play. The other county course, Bufalo Creek is in much better shape.

This is my local course, and a few months ago it was in great shape, but they are reseeding all tee boxes and areas in fairways, it’s rough to say the least

Staff is great, pace was great played 18 in less than 2 and half hours

But they need to water and get some grass to grow soon

I live about 5 mins away from Manatee golf course. We had the unfortunate timing of playing when the wind was out of the west blowing east. That means we get the septic processing plant aroma haunting us most of the time. It was a stinker. The other thing to let you all know, don't try to start on hole 10. The old man running the golf carts will chase you down and give you a verbal lashing that they don't do it that way here. He will take personal offense against you that you tried starting on the empty side of the course lol. What can you say, government run facility at its best in Manatee county. Good thing to report is the new gas powered golf course will get you through your round much quicker.

Course is in much better shape than others we have played in the last month. Staff was very cheerful and accommodating.

Social graces are extremely important especially from staff members. The pro shop reception was exemplary however the gentlemen tending the carts was less then charming. What a way to start you round as a first timer on the course.

Course was in pretty bad shape, tee boxes were awful weeds everywhere. Greens were aerated so also awful.

Fairway were dried out. It was like hitting on cement.

It's a shame because the course is scenic and the layout is open and fairly easy.

My wife and I however will not be coming back. $40 per person should have been $25.

Which I had better things to say after a 45 minute drive.

Been playing the course for 30 plus years. Sucks with 5 hour rounds at higher prices in season. Off season conditions have been better so far this year than in past years.

Nice layout and a fair test for intermediate players

Wish they had a place to practice, chipping, bump and runs and a decent sand trap

Using matts on the driving range is no fun either.

the fairways have little or no grass,loaded with weeds. i find it hard to believe that they were getting 85$ in season to play golf here! it would be ok at 104 just to practice your drives.

Greens are in great shape!!! Keep up the good work
