About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Adventure on the greens
for this time of year the course is in EXCELLENT shape , the greens were a little slow due to over seeding but I expect they will get faster after aeration
Great Course
Great course. Great layout. Fairways were good. Greens were punched 2 weeks ago, so they were slow and bumpy. Pace of play was a little slow with the group ahead of us. Great staff. Will play it again after greens grow in.
Great course to play
Course was great and the staff were super friendly and helpful to us newbies.
Greens and fairways aerated no notification greens very slow and bumpy. Fairways hard to find greasy. Said to see one of my favorite courses in this type of shape.

This course is an absolute gem, with a signature Island Green that’s pretty amazing. The staff is extremely friendly, and the encore amenities were really great: free range balls, super nice starter, etc.
Pace of play with stellar.
Unfortunately, at the time that I went to play, the greens were aerated and full of sand. Made it an absolutely horrible experience, with basically unplayable putting conditions.

the course was in decent shape , but it would have been nice if they had let us know that they were aerating the course, putting was a REAL adventure .
Good but pace of play was a little slow.
We had a 9:12 tee time we were stopped at the cart exchange for a few minutes pulled up to tee #1 at 9:14 and there was already another group getting ready to tee off. We caught up with our group at hole #2 and there was another group in front of us that had not teed of yet. We were jammed between two groups and the pace was very slow. Course was nice but for the price there are better courses around the area.
Horses in great shape for this time of year place of play with steady and smooth. Didn’t have to wait on the group in front of us.
Great course
The course was in great shape, pace of play was exceptional. The staff was extremely friendly!!
Good course starting to dry out
In general pretty good shape, well managed. They have started to punch areas that that are usually harder to keep green. Happy that their prices are coming down.
Hidden Gem
Booked this somewhat last minute for 12 noon tee time. Course was unusually quiet in the afternoon so I managed to play as a single in 2.5 hours, after waiting on a couple of groups to let me through.
Everything worked out perfectly, and course was in great condition.
Best in area
This course is great for long hitters and Single Digit players. It is a neighborhood gem so you will see lots of foursomes struggling from the wrong tees. The Marshall is usually around. The pace of play is great. They pay attention. The range is great and the balls are included for rack rate. Enjoy this well maintained course out in the middle of San Tan Valley in Florence, AZ.
5 Stars!!! Greens were true!!
Course was in great condition and rolling true!! May golf in the desert and couldn’t tell,. Everything was lush green and greens were fast, play more break on downhill and side putts..! First time at Poston Butte and will definitely be back!!
Great course and layout is Solid!! Love the wide fairways and how desert golf should play!!
