About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Very Nice Course
We really enjoyed playin Poston Butte. Beautiful layout. Fairways in tremendous shape. Found the greens hard to read. They were in great shape, just could not adjust for some reason. Staff was very cordial. Very nice restaurant on site. Bunkers had actual sand in them and were well maintained. I would definitely recommend playing here if you have the opportunity.
Awesome course
The 1rst hole is tricky unless you hole out from 85 yards from the bunker for eagle!!It was my 1rst eagle on a par 4.The greens are fast and tough to read.Lots of fairway bunkers and greenside bunkers. Great test of golf,we played the black tees over 6800 yards and I'm 60 years old,shot 76.GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!!
Great golf experience
Remote but worth the drive and an excellent value.
Many sand traps pose a challenge but traps have nice sand and are beautifully maintained. Arrive early as driving range features free range balls and there is a practice sand trap and chipping green. Good facilities and very friendly staff. Will play again.
Couse is in good shape
The course is in good shape. A few of the greens were kind of bumpy and were not perfect but overall the course looked good. Worth the trip if you don't mind driving a bit.
1st time golfers
We basically selected a twilight tee time to save $$$ as we’ve never ventured to Florence AZ to golf. Upon arrival we noticed a sign in the pro shop stating golf carts must be returned by 5:45PM. We quickly began to figure out how many holes we could get in as a twosome. We managed 15holes, but the pace of play was kinda slow. The course was long and the fairways were cut reasonably. With some strategically place bunkers the course offered a true challenge, wind excluded, from the black tees. Pops hit mostly from the red tees and we enjoyed a nice round so to say. The clubhouse had a distinct vibe for a Saturday night and we’re planning to try the course again even though we typically golf near the Scottsdale area.
Awesome Golfcourse
If you can work the golf ball both ways, right and left the fairways are easy to find .There are lots of fairway bunkers and greesnside bunkers. The fairways and greens are very hilly.Pay attention to the mountains.The greens are lightning fast. Great test of golf!!

The greens are lightning fast. Lots of fairway and green side bunkers. You need need to be able to work the ball both ways to find the fairways.Greens are very ungelated.Great test for all players.
Good solid round of Golf.
Nice course. Friendly staff. Greens lacked the attention usually paid by troon courses. Lots of ball mark damage on greens. All else was very playable.
