About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Good solid round of Golf.
Nice course. Friendly staff. Greens lacked the attention usually paid by troon courses. Lots of ball mark damage on greens. All else was very playable.
Playable course in very good condition
Played as a single and joined 2 others.
Course is straightforward and player friendly.
Generous fairways in good condition.
Greens and tee areas in good shape.
Lots of bunkers and they are steep so you have to get the ball up quickly and with some backspin.
Fortunately there is sand in the bunkers unlike a lot of valley courses.
But if you struggle getting out of sand traps you'll probably want to avoid this course.
Enjoyable round and a very fair course.

It was incredibly windy which made it extremely difficult to play! But otherwise everything was great!

Fun course
Played many times always good shape, great practice area. Still cart path only little drawback but understandable after overseeding.

Course was in great shape, pace of play was excellent. Little slow getting service staff help on the patio after golf, had to go in and get our own drinks. We were instructed “cart path only” and stay out of the gravel areas….and yet we saw two kids on dirt bikes riding near the clubhouse on dirt bikes…..

Quickly becoming one of my favorite courses in the Valley
While it is a hike to get to Poston Butte, the course is beautiful and provides many different tee combinations to choose from. The staff is friendly and the folks I have played with have also been fun and engaging. Love playing Poston Butte!
